There is a new movie out with lots of long haired men:
The Hobbit.
I saw it today and would highly recommend it.
I saw the Hobbit movie yesterday and thoroughly enjoyed it. Yes lots of hair galore and hardly a short hair in sight. Apart from the Trolls and Orcs who had very little to no hair at all. Me thinks these creatures are jealous.
cheers,
Duncan
Great movie! Watched it almost two weeks ago with other fellows with long hair :)
Looks like of all characters (not counting trolls, goblins and orcs) Bilbo had the shortest hair.
Jackson changed a lot comparing to original book, but still the movie's great. Waiting for next part of it this (or next ?) year.
My understanding is part 2 will be out in a year (Dec 2013) and
part 3 will be out in Dec 2014.
Total Lifetime Grosses
Domestic: $242,450,337 34.3%
+ Foreign: $464,000,000 65.7%
= Worldwide: $706,450,337
Correction: Part 3 is scheduled to be released in July 2014.
The studio wanted a shorter period between part 2 and part 3.
Yes = I saw 'The Hobbit' too & loved it - & yes I was quietly eyeing off & admiring ALL the myriad of plaits 'n styles the 'Dwarfs' were sporting - beards as well - I may test some soon ... hehehe ( I feel adventurous ) :)) CEM.
It's not a movie. Xena Warrior Princess had a lot of longhaired men in it.
At 2 hours 45 minutes (in digital/3D/Imax) how is it not a movie?
Especially compared to Xena which was a series of one hour
episodes and a spin off of Hercules?
Besides it was on a large screen with surround sound..
It was the TV series I was referring to. I wasn't unaware that there's a Xena movie.
There was no Xena ,movie, it was a tv series that spun off
of Hercules.
I thought because it was a shorter book than during the 1st book of Lord of the Rings, that it would be just one movie. They also used a number of gags referencing real drugs that were not necessary. Also the 45 Frame rates per second meant that my eyes had a hard time following all the action. I thought it was just me getting older until I saw a review.
It was originally supposed to be, the studio wanted it three films. So they added stuff to the book.
;They also used a number of gags referencing real drugs that were not necessary.
Where were those? I didn't notice that.
;Also the 45 Frame rates per second meant that my eyes had a hard time following all the action. I thought it was just me getting older until I saw a review.
That probably is more to do with the large screen. The normal speed is 24 frames per second, the action is the same it just
has a smoother image. I've done movie projection for many years and that is my understanding of the 45 frames per second.
Also at 24 frames per second in non 3D there is still a lot of action on the screen. And this was on a large screen but not 3D and not IMAX. The Hobbit has a large amount of detail, detail that you only see when you see the film more than once.
I would add that many of the older viewers like me have a lot of issues with 3D movies (nausea, headaches, etc.) The movie industry knows about this issue.
