Here's an update on my growth. I'm starting to feel the weight of my hair and I love it!
QUESTION: I'm noticing some mild thinning at my hairline. I'm sort of freaking out since I'm hoping to grow past my shoulders and keep it. Any advice? Rogaine is only for the crown!!!
Thanks!
Looks great man! That style is exactly what I'm going for. Do you mind me asking how far along you are and did you have any cuts? It looks like the front is a lot longer than the sides/back? I started growing mine out about 6 months ago from a shaved head and I'm not sure if I need to get the back/sides trimmed to get it like yours :-)
Trim nothing! If you grew it from shaved you have a perfect one length shape. Wait at least a year before you decide anything.
Patience is King.
I grew from a pretty short cut last summer. I guess that puts me at about 7 or 8 months. The back is actually slightly longer then the front. No trims planned until spring and even then very little.
Hi Growlur,
I think your looks awesome. Please don't get discouraged by the thinning you might be seeing. I would give your hair a chance to grow and you may like it okay. Sometimes I believe Mother Nature does pretty well making things look good. Please don't cut your hair or anything. I look forward to seeing you with at least mid-back length hair in the future. Please take care of yourself and your wonderful hair my friend.

Thanks! I love my hair. NO plans for cutting!
Hello Growlar: Wow your hair looks great, I really like it long in the front as well as the back. By the pic i can't tell there is any thinning, so don't get alarmed. Your hair looks great and just adds to your already good looks.

Thanks Tom. I appreciate it! I'm going to talk to my doctor in s couple of weeks about the thinning.

It looks good. I don't have any sure answer for the hairline problem. Maybe try taking MSM, saw palmetto, and lecithin. Also, a hair specific multi vitamin may help.

Looking great as you are - give it more and more length. As others have said, you'll want to examine the nutritional side of the coin, too.
