Wow it's been awhile since I've posted on this thread. A big "Hello" to everyone including the new people. I was going to hold off posting until I reached my hair length goal like an old member who goes by the name "Dusk." But that wouldn't be fun...right?!?! I've been keeping tabs of you all on and off. Best wishes to Ian and I hope he can continue to give us his wonderful updates. I thought if anything, i'd update this thread with my yearly length pictures. It feels like a good thing to do as a member who joined this site. Here is a short timeline of my hair journey so far. Oh and just in case I don't respond right away, then i'd like to give a big thanks to anyone who responds or views my post in advance!

Sorry for the blurry shot.
I still continue to wear my hair in a bun on a daily basis. The only time I wear my hair down is for these length pics or special circumstances. Even when I sleep, I have my hair in a top knot bun. I do have fun once in awhile and explore different braiding techniques to my hair. I'm now working on perfecting the Dutch braid....
I still use extra virgin coconut oil on a daily basis, and I now wash my hair once a week. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend! Cheers!
Wow, awesome growth.. Love it
Thanks! It was only possible I believe through practicing protective updos and researching (many months) other practices people with extreme hair lengths do in their hair care regime. In theory, if you can avoid as much breakage as possible and put lots of TLC into your hair, then any one can increase their speed on top of their genes. But that is my own silly thinking. :)

rowie
Hi Rowie,
My what progress you have made in the last 12 months. Looking good.
Duncan
Thanks Duncan. It is so good to hear from you. I hope all is well with you down under. I forget, do you plan to grow to terminal length?
-rowie
Hi Rowie,
Do I want it to get to terminal length? Hell yes. This month I celebrate 5 years hair growth. Still growing and I still want it longer! Will post progress pictures later this month.
cheers,
Duncan
Hi Duncan,
I myself will be anxiously awaiting your update pics. Your hair has always inspired me. Take care my friend!
Ted
Wow! I have to say you have some extremely rapid growth there! Extremely impressive, bro! :)
Thanks! I think my hair grows normal, but I practice protective updos and try to as much as possible avoid breakage which helps me to trim less or completely avoid it. I may not be able to enjoy my hair until I reach my goal of classic length (I'll maintain at that length maybe), but i've been observing people with extreme lengths and I try to incorporate what works for them into my hair care.
best,
rowie
P.S I've seen some of your posts, and you have nice shiny hair.
O_O
Holy moly!!! That is some super sonic attack of the killer plants radioactive hair growth......., :)
Great Scott!!!!
Thanks Scott! I don't have the same nuclear explosion as Jae or Jai (one of these days i'll get his name right, i'm so bad with names) in here.
best,
rowie
Holy Hades! You went from bic'd to bitching in just two years? You lucky bastard, you must have those fast hair genes! Consider me envious.
Nah, I don't have the fastest growing hair in here. A member by the name Jae or Jai has a faster growth then I do I think (I don't remember his screen name on here, but some members might be able to chime in), and his hair was thicker. But thanks for the compliment, my hair is always in a bun so I really believe that if you can avoid as much of not getting breakage then perhaps your hair will grow faster. I really believe that sure it's all in our genes but if you give your hair lots of TLC then you can achieve any lengths.
Cheers,
rowie
Hi rowie, long time no hear!I have been thinking about you from time to time wondering what happened since you stopped posting on the board. At least now I know you are still doing the longhair thing and oh what an impressive mane you've achieved to date:)Certainly a far cry from that buzz cut pic which is kind of scary.lol.Seriously your hair looks fabulous and am glad you stopped back to update the community:) Well do take care of yourself and hope to hear from you again soon my friend.Cheers
Mârk
Thanks Mârk. It is so good to hear from you! Yes I miss those henna days you have and maybe someday I can plan one out with you and we can be on the computer with a glop of green poo on our heads. hahaha
I hope all is well with you! So many things happened in a year. Especially at your place in NJ. I don't know about you but I got the virus that plagued the East Coast and I was sick on my last trip to Peru. Yes, I've been traveling a lot to many warm areas, hence why I had to take a sabbatical all of a sudden. But things are good now. I think maybe the warm weather has helped my hair grow. hmmm probably not. hehehe
good to hear from you my friend,
rowie
Hi rowie,
Wow,sorry to hear you got the bug this season as I've been very lucky and not even had a cold.Possibly doing all the traveling is what caught up with you but I trust you are well now:)Things have been relatively quiet for me so I guess that's a good thing.I'm about due for another henna redo as last time I did one was just before the holidays.lol.Have to admit I still love the color and doing the treatments as its been around a year and half now with reddish hair:)Anyway I'm glad to see your back and hope to hear more from you my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Hi Mârk,
That is great that you are almost do for a treatment. I'm thinking of ordering this type of henna from this site: http://www.hennasooq.com/red-raj/
I heard that this is the strongest henna in this site with a very high lawsome content. I probably need something really strong like this since my hair is dark. I'll probably see it in the sun more then anything. I bet this will look good on your hair, but I don't know if you really would want to try a strong firey red on your hair. hmmm. It seems like this henna brand is popular on other long hair boards.
-rowie
Hi rowie,
I get my henna from mehandi.com and have been very happy with all that I've got from them:)My henna does show better in bright light or sunshine and it does look really reddish.I'm sure your seller of henna is just as good and can imagine you'll need a certain grade being your hair is naturally darker than mine was.I certainly would not have colored my hair if I couldn't use henna.Just to wary of the chemical colors on the commercial market.
Mârk
Mârk
Hi Mârk,
Yes I like mehandi.com as well. I usually order the rajasthani twilight, but I find as my hair ages it gives it a more aubergine color in the sun and not a kind of red i'm looking for. I've read that Yemeni henna gives a vibrant consistent red as it ages or oxidizes on the hair. I'll do more research and hopefully i'll order a batch this week.
cheers,
rowie
Hi rowie,
Thanks so much for these update pics! I have been witing patiently for these. Your hair just looks beautiful! You have amazing growth! Please keep it growin' an flowin'! Hope you have a great weekend my friend!
Ted
Thanks Ted. I'm sure you'll get their really soon. It's nice to see other members with similar hair textures. I hope to learn from all of you that have similar hair texture to mine. My hair texture can be challenging to care for sometimes, but i've been having fun finding things that work for my hair. I hope to be able to exchange a plethora of things with you in the future.
best,
rowie
Hi rowie,
Cheers to you as well, and thank you for stopping by to post such an excellent update. You have come an amazing ways for only two years from a buzzcut, your hair is good and thick, and you must be blessed with the fastest growing hair on the planet!
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks David! It's so good to hear from you. I still remember your picture up in the mines. Still, I like your avatar pictures, and I like your hair color, hmm I don't think i'll be able to ever achieve your color since I henna my hair, but at least I can look at yours.
cheers,
rowie
Great to hear from you rowie. I've been wondering how you've been doing.
Your hair really does grow at a fantastic rate and is so thick too. Very nice progress!
Thanks Jason. I liked your last update. Your hair is looking great! Looking forward to your next update.
I told myself that if things get busy then i'd at least leave a yearly update. I hope all is well with you and your family.
best,
rowie

Your hair is really thick and full, much thicker than mine. What is your goal length?
Scott
Hi Scott,
So good to hear from you. Thanks, but I naturally shed a lot so i'm surprised my hair is still bushy. My current goal for now is classic length. I am still inspired from your length though, so we'll see if I have the same patience like you.
cheers,
rowie
Hey Rowie!! You're hair is looking awesome! Actually it looks like your hair is very similar to mine in thickness and waviness. Though yours is a slightly darker brown than mine.
The cool thing about looking at your pictures is your Jan '11 picture is what my hair was like in Jan '12 and your Jan '12 picture is what I look like right now!! So basically you're one year ahead of me. Its like looking into the future!! Now I know how sweet my hair is gonna look next January!
Thanks for that man... How long are you trying to grow it?
Peace,
Steve
