All right, it's been some months since I posted my last update.
So here it is.
As you see, the hair keeps growing. I suppose, it looks better with length. At least, I love it more this way.
It's a front photo. At the back my hair is longer - it's just at the level of shoulder-blades.
The hair is almost dead straight and thin, with a bit of waviness at the ends.
It's pretty strange, but at this length I still can't wear it in a pony-tail. The front hair simply falls out of a ponytail in 10 minutes after tying, and it doesn't look good as my hair is thin and straight, as I said earlier.
Probably, need at least 2 or 3 months to wear in a ponytail with comfort.
Another problem I recently stumbled upon. Social ones, again. Some girls (the ones that actually hate me with long hair) started saying that I look feminine with hair. My body and stature is masculine enough, but the face is gentle (you can see at the pic). Damn, hate those comments.
But all right, here is my update. Will try to post one more photo in comments later.
Thanks.
Serge.
Hi Serge,
Looking good and you have the perfect hair type to grow very long.
Here's to you Serge and here's to a growth Surge!
Cheers,
Duncan
Hi Duncan! Thanks! I'm going just to let it grow further as I enjoy hair and a hair-growth trip a lot. Especially now, when it already has some length :)
Thanks!
Serge.
Hi Serge,
You have beautiful hair! I do believe it will look very nice when it gets longer. The color and smoothness is so nice. Please keep it growing.
As far as the comments from the girls, I would just ignore them. I think they are probably jealous of your hair. I have seen many men who have long hair that looks way better than women's hair. My Mother-in-law keeps telling me I need to cut my hair short. And mine is not even that long yet! But then again, she gets hers colored and cut every single month. I just told her it's the end of the discussion. Hope you have a great weekend my friend!
Ted
Hey Ted! Thanks for your reply and opinion greatly! By the way, I changed my goal a bit. I wasn't sure about my desired length, but now I'm going to let it grow freely till the chest or a midback length. Love this journey :)
By the way, I'm watching at your progress, and I like your hair a lot! You're gonna look really awesome with more length!
Thanks!
Serge.
Hi Serge,
I really appreciate your kind comments! If my hair could only look like yours! Take care my friend!
Ted
It sounds like your hair is almost exactly like mine, straight and fine. Even longer, keeping it in a tail can often be a challenge unless you make the band very tight. The good news is that fine hair is easy to tie up and stuff under a hat when you'd rather look more conservative. :-)
As far as looking feminine, I don't see that. Some people can look a bit androgynous, but I'm not really seeing that either. There's nothing wrong with either if that's who you are, but if the suggestion bothers you, you can try dressing in a slightly more rugged fashion. And keep in mind that some people just can't seem to accept anything that's outside their own narrow viewpoint. You can't please them all, so why try?
Good luck!!

Hey Dale! Thanks for your reply! Yeah, my hair is really a fine one. Probably, we have similar types. Why does it make it hard to keep it in a pony-tail?
Concerning a tight band. I'm not sure if it'd be good for my hair. I can sense some uncomfortable tension even without tying a band too tight. Is it a normal feeling, or am I doing something wrong?
And thanks for your opinion really a lot!
Serge.
Fine hair is harder to keep in a tail because of it's lack of volume, there's just not as much surface area per strand at the friction point. When I say tight I just mean that the band is wrapped around the hair more times and with greater tension than you'd need with courser hair. You don't need to pull the hair real tight, in fact if you feel any uncomfortable pulling you should probably remove the band and try again. Done correctly, you will barely notice any sensation other than the lack of movement from your hair. It can take a bit of practice to get it right on the first try, and even with practice it doesn't always work the same every time.
Good Luck!

If I am not wearing my hair loose, then I usually put it into a bun and secure it with a hairpin.
When I wear a ponytail (rarely) I use the small terrycloth elastics. I like the Goody ones because I only need to wrap them around twice and they are comfortable. The colors aren't great, but they are gentle on my hair and that's what matters. My ponytail circumference is a measly 1.5 inches, maybe even less. It's pretty ridiculous, but what can you do...
I'm linking a photo of the hair ties. I recommend these to anyone with thin and fine hair.
Ignore what those girls are telling you, because they are just being immature. They are probably afraid that your hair will grow longer than theirs and look better than theirs. Girls even try to convince other girls to cut their hair. They can be very sensitive about their hair, and some of them try to get rid of competition wherever they can. Be polite with them if you can, but disregard their comments.
The "gentle" qualities of your face are due to youth and healthy skin. Your facial bone structure is masculine. So don't worry about that either.
Hi! Thanks for your opinion! I really appreciate it a lot! And yeah, those comments won't turn me away from wearing a long hair - long hair is really the way I feel myself naturally. It simply annoys sometimes.
Thanks!
Serge.
Greetings Serge,
You hair looks great and the negative comments sound like pure jealousy.Follow your heart and grow your hair if that's what you really want my friend:)Life is short so do what fulfills your life and let the others live their own miserable existence!LOL.Cheers
Mârk
Hey Mârk! Really thanks for your reply!
I'm growing my hair for myself completely. Not to amuse people from my surroundings or to pickup girls :) It started as a small experiment, as I desired to try long hair since childhood (I'm 20 y.o. now). But I was afraid of society's opinion at that time. But now during university years something changed in me. And yeah, it worked! I feel that it's a right thing to go for me (with long hair), love it this way! :) Can't actually understand how I lived with a buzz-cut earlier. The feeling and the look are soo different now in a better way!
Thanks!
Serge.
Hey Serge!
Quite awesome hair man! My hair is about the same length. Going to post an updated pic of me in a bit.
Stay in touch.
John
Hey John! Thanks for your opinion! Just saw your update, and yeah, your hair looks great!
Serge
Thanks Serge!
My thoughts for you... Don't worry about what others with negative thoughts think about you. Your hair is awesome and you have a great attitude. Live on with that!
John
Hi Serge,
You have fantastic looking hair. Keep it up and ignore the negative comments. It's your hair and body and you have every right to wear it how you like it. Do you have a goal length?
best,
rowie
Thank you, Rowie!
Serge
Hei Sergii,
First off, your hair looks outstandingly awesome! From the texture, to the slight waviness to the color and length, I am definitely a huge fan and quite envious of that mane of yours! :)
Now, as for people giving you crap about your hair, I think you really to start thinking positive. What is it really that makes a group of people give someone crap about anything at all, whether appearance or something else? The fact that they are weak, and need the conformity of the bigger group in order to feel like they matter, they need approvance.
We, as long haired men (well, at I am still working on it) are non-conformists by definition, and know that in life, what matters is doing what makes YOU, Sergii, happy. As long as you´re not hurting anyone else, do whatever pleases you, my friend. These small people and their negativity come and go through life, but your inner peace and quality of living as a direct result of being happy with yourself and your choices, are life long :)
Be yourself, is all that you can be.
Hey Raul! It's such a great reply! Thanks for it a lot! And it really inspires me to go the way I feel myself better!
Thanks for great words! And good luck to you on your hair-growth trip! I'm watching all of your updates!
Serge.
Glad I could help, my friend... that´s what wee´re here for, helping and supporting eachother :)
Thank you!
Lol dont listen to them. There probably just jealous because you look better than they do, or insecure because they know that you could get way nicer girls.
If your happy with it that's all that matters. Someone who's really worth your time isn't going to care what length your hair is.
Just for the record, though, it looks fantastic. It seriously takes your look to a different level.
Thanks, Dylan!
Serge.
I am also clean shaven. By lifting weights, I have avoided any teasing with long hair. I maintain my facial skin by avoiding the sun, regularly applying sun tan lotion on my face, and keeping a good diet. Your hair is very well proportioned in front. Nice example.

Your hair looks good. To keep in tailed you will need your front hair to be a bit over 30cm long for it to stay tied.
