Hi everyone - I just ran cross this board! I would never have dreamed there was a board for men with long hair - how cool is that!
Although I've always had "somewhat" long hair, it wasn't until I moved to Seattle about 15 years ago that I really started to let it grow. Funny thing, I moved to Texas about 6 years ago and my hair grew another 1-2 inches!
I get compliments almost every week from women and have even had women ask if they can "Touch it" ( How can I say no?) I guess it is the "Fineness" of my hair, coupled with the "Platinum blond" color (It's not colored - It is actually all White but looks platinum blond instead - go figure!).
Anyways, /it's good to see all these men here with long hair :-)
Great looking platinum blond locks!
Glad you found our little enclave - Welcome aboard

Hi Shadowfax,
I really like the color and texture of your hair! I can see why the ladies want to touch it! Nice to hear your hair grew when you got to Texas! They say everything's bigger in Texas. I guess that goes for hair also! Welcome to the MLHH and thanks for the update! Have a great week my friend!
Ted
Welcome aboard!
Your hair looks great and you seem to have the right attitude to fit right in here, so I´m glad you´ve found this forum! Enjoy, and feel at home! =)
I can see why you get compliments on your mane, o noble Shadowfax. I've always wanted white hair. I think it has something to do with crazy awesome scientists like Einstein, Ben Franklin, and Doc Brown being my childhood heroes.
So welcome to the board, Shadowfax! I hope you have a great time here.
Never stop growing, friend. Mind, body, and soul.

Thanks Oren, Ted, Mark, Raul, Septet, Hairball, Validus and any other I missed!
I hadn't thought about the adage "Everything is bigger in Texas" but maybe there is some validity to it :-)
Raul - Yes, I read few quite a few posts to get a feeling of the people here before posting myself. It definitely seems like a pretty awesome group of people!
I've been through the gamut of what I've read in previous posts - Being called "Ma'm" at the grocery stores and on the streets, etc... I've even been accused of being gay due to my hair (That's about the last thing long hair represents any more than being straight), being asked for drugs, being "Watched" by police (and even harassed but that one is rare once I open my mouth!). etc...
I take it all in stride - I realized early on that by letting my hair continue to grow, I'd be stereotyped (we all do it to an extent and I can relate and understand it) by some. So, for example, If I'm being "watched" by the police, I try and strike up a conversation with them if I have the time (I spent 4 years in Seattle living in a "Converted van" that stuck out like a sore thumb and they had every reason to watch me. After a few conversations, they realized I wasn't selling drugs or molesting children and stopped paying me the attention :-)
Same as with being addressed as "Ma'm". I never take it the wrong way and at times have fun with it by turning around and looking them straight in the face and saying something like "Plastic is fine, thank you", with a big sh**t eating grin on my face!
Oh well, such is life - It's better to run with it than fight against it :-)
Welcome to the greatest online community in existence!
