Hey there, it's been a while since I've posted, but I've been checking in now and then. Recently I realised that I'd actually reached my goal for growing my hair. While it's certainly not the longest head of hair out there, it's pretty perfect for me. It feels so good to have it this long again. It's reaching down to my shoulders now, sometimes dropping a bit further if it doesn't curl too much.
I've taken to brushing it in the mornings and evenings, as it gets tangled pretty easily if I don't. As for washing, because of the time it takes not only to wash it but to dry it, I tend to only wash it every few days when I have spare time. It saves me heaps of time and worry. It takes a while before it gets greasy, but it's not bad or anything. If anything, it shines a little more when it's greasy!
Since it's summer here in Australia, and long hair isn't ideal in the heat, I often use hair ties to put it in a bun. I don't ever bother with ponytails these days, I don't like how it looks on me.
In the next month or two, I'll probably be getting a trip to keep my hair neat and maintain this length. Also, it's a little hard to see, but while on holiday recently I decided to finally put some colour through my hair. I got blond foils put it. It's not much and nowhere near as dramatic as dying all my hair, but it's a great change, and I think it works very well.

Hi there Terry:)
It's great to see you stop back and see you old friends here on mlhh.I certainly remember you and have to say your hair is looking fantastic!Funny how all the issues you mention about your hair is what I experience.Yes, mine tangles easily so frequent brushing is a must unless its tied back so it can't blow around.I wash mine twice per week and I experience the same shinier hair aspect as it greases up slightly.Well its just the results of having long hair but I'm not complaining;)Your goal length looks superb as we all have different desires when it comes to length.Thank you for the update and please stop back again sooner my friend:) Cheers

I never brush my hair. I finger comb it after washing/conditioning and then comb with a wide tooth comb. The finger combing removes any potential tangles. After that I never comb or brush the hair, and i'm careful to put the hair
in a pony tail or braid to prevent damage from wind. Also tying it up in a pony tail or braiding it helps to prevent tangles.
I've had damaging tangles in the past so after about a year ago
when I had to remove about 8 inches of hair I've been extremely careful to avoid tangles/damage to my hair.
One of the hazards of having long hair is it's easy to
get it tangled, to get the hair damaged, or to get the hair
caught in things like car doors, car windows, coat zippers,
etc.
I haven't noticed my hair being shinier as it greases up,
I have noticed my hair is not as poofy on the days after it
is first washed.
Ultimately the choice of length is entirely up to you.
I find long hair ideal in the heat. I find long hair perfect for all year 'round.
In the summer I like wearing cut off shorts and having my long hair cascading down my back with no shirt on. (Right now it is 2/3 of the way down my back.) Of course I also wear cut off shorts all year 'round but that is another story.
IMHO long hair always looks better than short hair.
I'm 58 years old and have had long hair since 1964.
Hi Terry,
Your hair is looking fantastic! I really like the fullness and color! I think if you let it get a little longer it will weigh itself down. Then maybe you will like it better in a ponytail. Either way, I think it looks awesome! Thanks for the update and please post a picture if you decide to grow it longer. I would love to see it at mid-back length. Please keep it growing and flowing! Have a great week down there in Australia my friend!

It suits you - a centre part might be better though, have you tried that?
Take care when you have a trim, find s person who understands long hair and that (say) half an inch means just that. Many claim to do so but the path is littered with heads of hair ruined by hairdressers who have no clue what the are doing or else think that their view on what needs to be done is more important than that of their client.
Hey Terry,
Very awesome hair mate!
Cheers from Denver!

Yup, that's exactly the length I want to get back to too. Not much longer than that. I'm not a fan of extremely long hair. I personally think there's a point where it starts to look freaky instead of attractive.
I'm not keen on ponytails either. I don't think they're flattering on me and they kinda defeat the ob ject of having long hair anyway. I'd rather have my hair no longer than shoulder-length so it doesn't tangle much and I don't need to tie it back often.
Your hair looks perfect and the blond foils are well cool! Nice one, mate!
