I was just wondering Justin,
I was a big fan of you videos when I first grew my hair out in around 2008/9.
When I decided to grow again, coming back to the forum and youtube I see you cut. All be it you look great with short hair, and your decision is your own. But I can't help but feel the urge to know why you cut.
And you also don't have to answer, if you don't like. ;)
Hi and no problem:
1. A Salon had earlier demolished a whole lot. But........
2. Emergency surgery resulting in Cardiac Arrest to drain 14 lbs of fluid out of my chest caused by some kind of a rare virus. Diabetic complications and a Blood Clot caused because of complete neglict on the part of the hospital. Afterwards:
3. Hair continued to fall out non-stop for 9 months. There was simply nothing left to save and so I cut.
Hope that helps with your question.
Justin~
ps: Oh yes, at this point I have no plans to grow my hair out long again. Just havin some fun now with shorter-longish styles.
Hi Justin,
Here's hoping you are doing well nowadays and enjoying life! I still enjoy watching your videos and admiring your long hair. Sorry to hear you're not going to grow your fabulous hair again. If you do decide to grow again please give us an update! Thanks a bunch for your inspiration! Have a great week my friend!
Ted

Hi Justin,
Thanks a bunch, Justin. I really enjoy this board. Please don't hesitate to chime in when you can. Take care of yourself and have a great week my friend!
Ted
Hi Justin,
And wow.... I really did not expect that...
It actually upset me. I was, and am a huge fan of yours for a number of years now. And regularly watched your videos and enjoyed your beautiful music.
Back in 2008/9 I think I actually had a small email back and forth with you shortly. I'm not sure if you remember, my name is Drew, my old tag on here was RoamingIrishCelt. I'm originally from Dublin, Ireland. And at the time of contact I lived on an island in Greece.
I lost Internet there and fell out of touch. Plus moving around Europe and cutting hair for a while I lost touch with the long hair community.
Now I'm growing again, and back in Ireland, for now.. My hair is around 8 inches long all over.
I'm sorry you went through all that, it just shows how random and cruel life can be. But I see you are strong, and you look great. I hope your boy/s are well too.
I wish you all the good vibes I can muster at this time.
Peace Drew
Hey Drew! :-)
*Well, guess it is about time to let everyone know the details once and for all..........but I hardly wanted it all to come across as some kind of a sob story. No way. Never. Just all a part of life.
THank you so very much Drew and yes........I well remember you and had wondered what happened. Well, now I know and man, you have really been doing alot of moving and all kinds of things. Take care and good luck with the long hair. Glad to know you are ok.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
While having known from your youtube comments that you have gotten ill and had a long fight with the illnes, I never really knew the full effects and what was it you were battling, so from here, I want to send you huge kudos on all the hard work, both on the videos but even moreso on the fact that you have a winner´s attitude, and you are kicking both the illness and life´s butts, no matter what is thrown at you! :)
You were perhaps one of the bigger inspirations I´ve found on youtube, when it comes to embracing oneself and being and doing what you want to do, all while keeping a great, positive attitude about life.
Wish you all the well, my friend.. and as Ted says... whether you decide to regrow your hair or not, I would love to see both more posts from you here, as well as more videos from you on growing and keeping long hair as a guy on youtube.
You, my friend, are a legend :)
Thank you so much Raul. After about 7 days in the Hospital (and I escaped from intensive care unit when they sent Hospice people in to see me, Blood Clot and all) I just said the heck with this and all by myself somehow made it home and collapsed on the floor. I managed by myself (in not really good shape) to make a short video to my audience without letting-on all of the details
of which I am telling now these many years later. My audience was too upset and I promptly removed the video the next day and after that kept very quiet about this. Despite all, I have been hounded about not having long hair. To this I say: "Just let yourself go through what I did, and then see how much of a top priority it is in your life to have long hair." To me, it isn't now, though I DO champion the cause and DO very much love long hair myself and always have, and I DID try to save my own for 9 months, so it isn't as if I gave up on it all that easy.
Take care Raul and keep up the good work of growing out that hair. It will look fantastic! :-)
Justin~
Truly both horriffic and inspiring to hear, Justin.
You have to remember that people online, and especially on the comment section of youtube, have it extremely easy to hide behund their keyboards and screens and simply dish out critique and hate. But I am sure you have learnt to grow some thick skin thoughout the years, as us all a bit stranger guys have ;)
Good to know you have faith in me, my friend! Will definitely be keeping you, as so many others here on the great MLHH in mind, as inspirations along the way! :)
