Hi to all MLHH members! :)
I will allow myself to be inspired by Ted's amazingly positive (as usual, when it comes to Ted) thread earlier this week, and wish you all a great weekend, wherever you may be :) I think such initiatives are great in creating routines and encourage other memebers to share updates on their hair journey and life in general :)
As for my weekend, it seems that tonight me and my girl will just chill with some tv (trying hard to get her into Sons Of Anarchy, my fave show in the last few years!) and order some pizza and stuff, while using Saturday for a little get together at her brother's place. Sunday I plan on enjoying my UFC, and getting a little trip in the forrest area of my city, if the weather permits it ;)
On the hair front, well... It's a bit over 3 months now, and it's begun looking a tad messy already! Nothing even remotely close to being 'long-ish', but definitely not short and tidy anymore either! Best part of it all? I love the proccess! :) I feel absolutely 100% certain in my heart that I will go though with this, and I am not at all fearing what I might have done in the past during the awkward stage! Just bring it!
What I did do, however, was to start switching from the beanie to a baseball cap again, something that saves me tons of time thinking about my hair during the day ;) trying to use as little gel and other products as possible, this time around.. So sometimes, no visible hair is just perfectly fine ;)
Here's to a great weekend to you all, again! :)
Keep on growing and flowing! =)
Good Morning !
I really like this trend. On another board that I frequent, there is a "GOOD MORNING THREAD" where folks say good morning, tell the weather where they are and usually share what they are up to for the day......great upbeat way to start the day.....Looks like the MLHH is going to have a "GREAT WEEKEND THREAD" Tthree cheers from me !
By the way, Raul....did you notice that your photo make your ballcap look like it has a whirly-propeller on it ! giggle
As I was working away from home over the holidays, I am catching up with my friends and we are celebrating "THANKSMAS"....decorations, presents and lots of good food....
Have a Great Weekend All

Hei White-Tail!
Now that you´re mentioning it, yeah... that really high light-pole really does look like a propeller on my cap. Oh well... I was walking home from work and felt a bit stupid taking a picture of myself in the middle of the road, so that´s as good as it gets, hehe.
Always been a huge Nu-Metal fan and Limp Bizkit and Fred Durst are icons I grew on. The red (and sometimes black) Yankees ballcap are must owns for me, especially now when regrowing my hair ;)
The only irony being that the Yankees still have an inflexible rule prohibiting their players from having both facial hair and long hair of any type. They are the only team in MLB to do this. Just a few days ago one player spoke up and said that he would never accept a trade to the Yankees because of this. Hopefully more players will adopt this stance and cause the team to rethink this ridiculous prohibition.
Hi Jason,
That is mind-boggling and shockingly outdated, if I can say so myself! Hard to believe that in the year 2013, one of the biggest franchise can still have such stone-aged regulations!
Hi Raul and Jason,
Yes, but the Yankees have very deep pockets and players want that money. Sad but true.
Ted
For sure. Here's an article showcasing the courageous stand of David Price:
That's Not My Style, Man
Happy Weekend to you, as well :) Thanks for giving us a glimpse into "who you are"... this is what makes the MLHH community so cool. Here's what I'm up to this weekend:
My wife and I will be going to hear the last surviving World War II Navajo "code talker" speak this evening. Tomorrow morning, we will be participating in a feast being held in his honor, where my daughter's Ojibwe drum and dance troupe will be performing. From there, we will be heading out of town for a pow wow.
Concerning the hair: This is the longest it's been in quite a while, and I'm really just enjoying it. Even the process of relearning ways to cope with hair getting into my eyes has been kind of fun! Also helpful is the fact that my wife prefers the long-haired look, and has been very encouraging, as have my kids. Just this morning, my wife told me how lucky I am to have hair that manages to look good throughout the entire growing-out process. I think the secret is to not try too hard to keep it all "in place," as if it were still short. In my opinion, guys who use a lot of products in an effort to keep every hair glued down neatly come across as being insecure and overly-concerned about it. I just shampoo and condition every second day (washing with water and conditioner only on the other days), towel dry, brush it, and let it do its thing. Easy breezy.
Cheers to all of you!

Hey Raul,
This is a great way to get to know each other for sure. It sounds like you have a fun weekend lined up and are more resolute than ever to carry your long hair journey to its completion! Great to hear on both counts.
My weekend begins with my weekly Friday afternoon cycling that I hope to launch in a couple of hours. Im hoping to log 40-45 miles today through some of the quiet, wooded areas of the north shore of Massachusetts. The roads are largely empty where Ill be going to so its a great escape. I come back from these rides high as a kite on endorphins and will be blissed out until bedtime.
Tomorrow were celebrating my wifes birthday and her mom will be babysitting so well have a night out sans child. Well miss our little guy but its nice to have couple time too!
Sunday means more cycling and also attending a party with a big group of the parents of the little ones around my sons age that weve gotten to know. It will be fun to see him interact. Hes already flirting with the girls! LOL
Have a great one!
Jason
Hi Raul,
I hope you have a great weekend as well, and thank you for starting such a nice thread.
My weekends tend to be on the quiet side, and I am happily retired. I do like to walk, and it is my favourite outdoor activity during the winter months. There is a trail close to my home, and I walk it several times a day, for a total of 8 miles or so of walking per day.
Also, on Sunday evening I do have a bowling league, and it is a lot of fun. The style of bowling I do is a bit different from the usual ten pin bowling popular in most places. In the Maritime provinces of Canada, almost all of our bolwing is "candlepin bowling", which uses small balls with no holes, and tall skinny pins. It is also quite popular in the New England states, and Jason may, or may not be familiar with it. I have included a link to a Wiki article on it.
Take care,
David
Hi Raul,
Thanks for the credit of being positive! I am happy to hear I have inspired you! I apologize for the late reply. Today was a dialysis day and I was resting a good part of the time. Sounds like you have a wonderful weekend planned out. The pizza definitely sounds good. Never watched Sons of Anarchy-if I can get away from the computer I may have to check it out. I sometimes watch the UFC. It's pretty intense I tellyou. I like to watch Nascar racing on Sundays. Your trip sounds fun; hopefully the weather is favorable for you:)
Your hair looks fine with the baseball cap. I also think it's best to stay away from products if possible. My hair has been driving me crazy because it's not quite long enough to put behind my ears. If I wear a baseball cap my hair just sticks out and looks wild. But that's okay I am having a lot of fun with this mop I have! I love the crazy looks the girls at the dialysis clinic give me! They don't like guys with long hair. I think they're just jealous. I'm trying to get mine longer than theirs. It's going to take me at least 3 years I think.
You and your girl have a great weekend and be careful. Keep the hair flowin' an growin'. Keep rockin' that baseball cap-you look cool man! Great look!
Ted
Hi Raul,
Ha ha,yea that baseball cap is my "at work" fare to protect my hair from the elements and hair eating machinery!LOL.The only problem is that after taking it off my hair is all flat looking from being squished under it all day.And imagine I wear the cap in the hot summer as well.Used to wear caps outside of work but now that I've got intro bunning my hair with hair sticks I enjoy that much better:)I really hate covering my hair totally as I don't even look like a long hair then.At least with the bun my hair can be seen and I get to show off the henna colour too:)
As for the weekend it will be kind of slow for me but anticipate taking delivery of a used truck I bought on auction.Has to be shipped across country so not sure if it will arrive during this weekend.I'm happy to report the weather will be nice this early March:)Cheers
