Here's a mop for you, and yeah, from experience- it only gets moppier with each passing month ;)
And one taken from the back.
Not yet sure about that thinner, softer hair growing there on the sides, but for the time being, it's staying.
No scissors/clippers have touched my head since 27.11.2012 :)
Hey Raul
That's really a very cool "Longish Look" that you are sporting right now on your way to a fabulous mane. So strange to me how so many guys get so uptight/upset about their hair when it reaches the stage you are at right now. Some times I think that in the growing-out process that too many want every single hair in just the perfect place and then plaster their hair with gel. A great and up-beat look you have right now. Just "go with the flow" so to speak and enjoy the whole Awkward Stage experience. A different look every day and many of these are a one time thing only. Fun! :-) Take care-
Justin~
ps: Those thinner hairs of which you speak on your neck are the ones that never seem to go anyplace. Eventually when the main hair grows long enough you won't even see these (unless in a Ponytail). Some guys just leave it and others like to just clean those areas up a bit. But ea. to their own and whatever you like. No rules other than your own. Hair is to enjoy! :-)
Heya Justin,
Thanks for the lengthy and detailed answer! :)
To be completely honest with you, I used to be one of those guys who had to have their hair in perfevt hold and form all the time, and I´ve always been a huge supporter of gels, pastes, wax and whatnot.
This time around, though, I am trying to minimize the use of styling products, and not use hair straightening hot irons at all, all in the goal of better, longer and healthier hair than back in 2007 :)
Luckily, my hair is not at it´s most awkward stage yet (around 6-10 months or so for me) and even when I get there, I know I have beanies, ballcaps and lots of other accessories to use in order to keep a decent look. Once it´s down to shoulder length, it´s a fun ride downwards from there ;)
I guess I will soon trim off the short hairs on the sides and bottom of my neck, seeing as it looks messy, and even with long hair, I will want to experiment with samurai buns, braids and whatnot, and they are going to look messy and unkept then as well. Thanks :)
Hi Raul,
Come on now Raul! I thought I held that honor! I have to see if I can find a picture for you. Seriously your "mop" looks awesome! Hope your weekend is going great my friend!
Ted
Hi Ted,
Thanks again, bro! Weekend´s great so far, and now there´s no other plans left other than relaxing and enjoying a great Sunday :) Hope all is well with you as well!
Damn! I could never have thought that this phase of yours is somehow connected with awkward stage :) Looks like you have chance to enjoy your hair completely all the way. The hair really looks great!
Sergii.
Hei Sergii,
Thanks, bro! I am not sure I agree with you about the "great look" as I´ve got way too much volume on top at the moment with no weight dragging the hair down, but hey, it will hopefully get better as it gets longer! :)
Well, I'm not exaggerating - I simply love waviness and curliness in hair too much :) Your hair looks really good and it suits you. But yeah, it will look even way better with length.
Sergii.
Ain´t that typical, as I LOVE straight, blonde hair like yours... grass is always greener I guess ;)
Hi Raul,
As promised, here is a picture of my mop. Not quite as nice as yours, but it is a mop! Take care.
Ted
Dammit! I forgot to post the pic! Here it is!
Hi Ted,
Well, your mop is defeinitely an impressive one, hehe... but I think we can co-exist in our claim for being the mop kings of the MLHH ;) great looking hair, btw! nice length to it too! :)
Hi Raul,
Thanks for the kind words about my mop! Of course we can co-exist! I love those words! If the world would just start to understand the concept of co-existing I think it would be a better place! I am trying to get some length, but seems to be taking forever! Good things come to those who wait! And your hair is looking fabulous also my friend! I really like your pictures. You take really good pictures. Enjoy the rest of your weekend!
Ted
Great start, Raul. Those moppy phases are the ugly duckling that will become a swan of awesome long hair.
Onward and Downward,
- Oren
Hi Oren,
Thanks for the encouragement! It sure seems like it will be ages from now, but at the same time, noticing the big difference in my hair length since the (almost) buzzcut to now, makes me a believer, my hair DOES grow ;)
Good Sunday to you all!
As I have said in the Good Weekend post, today I have enjoyed myself with a bike ride outside in the woods. It was rather sunny and warm (for being Norway in March) with temperatures up to 7c, and the solitary and serenity that fills me when I am outside in nature are absolutely undescribable :)
Lookin' good! I didn't know your ears were stretched! Cool. :)
Hi Rowie,
Thanks, and yeah, they have been stretched on and off for the last 7 years. At around 9/16" and not going any bigger since I don't really like the droopy lobes it gives people ;)
Raul, thanks for sharing this. It made my day. :) Keep it growin' and flowin'!!!!
Raul,
Looking very good. I certainly wouldn't call it a mop! Keep on growing. Unrelated to hair, I'm interested in seeing more of your tats. We should probably show more of our ink with our hair when we can. I would assume there's some ink in this group!
