Walked into the elevator at my company's building today, and two other gents followed me in. One noticed my tail and beard and (grinning) asked me: "Are you with the band? Or one of the roadies?"
Gave me a good chuckle.
Frodo
JSFrodo,
I get that one occasionally as well as did you ride your "bike" today? Are you Native American? How's Cheech? lol. Have had guys want to have their picture taken with me because I look like Tommy Chong. No to the first three questions and I have never seen any resemblence to Tommy Chong in me! Oh well, people like to surround themselves with their stereotypes.
peace,
jonalbear
No resemblance, you say? :)

I get people saying I look like Mike McDonald of the Doobie Brothers.
I get accused of looking like Willie Nelson.

LOL, I love it! Reminds me of a comment a waitress at a local Asian-Polynesian seafood restaurant said to me when I was dining out with my mom a few years ago: "You ride motorcycle?" (her English wasn't so good).
Baffled, I politely said no. Then she commented about my black leather jacket (which, by the way, I rarely wear) and long ponytailed hair.
"OH!", I said laughing, "Just so you know: I'm a complete klutz on a motorcycle, the only time I tried to drive one was when one of my brothers tried to sell his to me, and I fell over after accidentally driving up a sand dune!"
Oh, well -- at least it wasn't the usual, "Do you realize you look just like Santa Claus?" comment... I guess I was a bit younger back then, as I haven't heard the biker comment now in several years (LOL)!!
By the way, a big CONGRATS to you for landing your new job, that is hands-down terrific news!!!
Always a pleasure to hear from you mr. Frodo!
