Just checking in how is everyone?
Here's a pic of me taken yesterday. As you can see I've been maintaining the length of my hair and haven't really been trying to grow it any longer. Its also layered quite heavily and I like the texture that gives my hair, it also gives a ponytail a nice shape, but you'll have to wait for that photo.
Apologies for the poor quality mirror shot for the back, its the best I could get quickly. Note to self, clean the mirror.
Anyway hope everyone is well.
David
David
Wonder to see you and that incredible update....maintaining that length and the layer really looks sharp with you hair texture.
Thanks for Sharing

Thanks White Tail.
The texture actually comes from the way the hair is cut.
Instead than gathering a section of hair and just cutting straight across, the hair is lightly textured using a *very light* "point-cutting" technique.
For those interested in that sort of thing.
Hi David,
Thanks for the very nice update! Your hair looks awesome at that length with the layering. I know what you mean about the layering giving the ponytail a nice shape. It especially looks good on straight hair like yours. Hope you have a good rest of the weekend and a great week next week my friend!
Ted
Thanks Ted
If only my hair was naturally straight! Its actually naturally wavy, this is achieved using a hair-dryer to get it straight.
David
It still looks great David! I will be happy when my hair reaches the length you have. Please take care of yourself and your hair.
Ted
Great snaps. Your hair is much like mine, In color and length. Mine might be a little more copery, (and white, now) However the length is nearly as mine. Looks very good. I also love the symmetry of your moustach and eyebrows. Give you a wonderfully "fun" look.
Hi David,
I have to say your hair looks awesome so what you are doing with it
certainly is working my friend:) We all do what works best individually with
our hair and the longer you have longhair the more one learns the ropes of
taking care of it to ones own liking:) As always great pics and nice seeing you
post the board again.Cheers

All systems go, here. Looking awesome, David!
Great to hear from you.

Just realised I've now had 'long hair' for 10 years
This was me in 2003
Sorted,
Your hair looks great. Like the color and texture. Nice trasformation over the past 10 years. I have been growing mine out for about 20 years now. First the tail and then the sides about 10 years ago!
peace,
jonalbear
Looks great! Congrats!
Steve
I started growing my hair in 1964. So i've had long hair now
for 48 years. And it will remain long until the day I die.
[In 1964 I was inspired by the Beatles to grow my hair. And as they say the rest is history.]
David
Good to see you posting again, your hair looks excellent, do you still live in the Canaries? You have clearly found someone that you can trust to look after it for you. It is hard to believe that it is ten years since you started growing out, I remember your influence encouraging me to stay on the growth path at the time.
Here's to another ten years.
Duncan
Hi David,
Your hair really looks excellent here, and I am impressed that you are able to straighten it regularly with no damage whatsover. Also, congrats on 10 years of long hair, and I have had long hair for just under 9 years myself.
Take care,
David
David, congrats on the pic. Your hair looks excellent, color, texture, everything. Good work.
Steve
Thanks for sharing the inspirational update pic, bro!

Simply amazing hair, wowzers!
I will have to learn more about that straightening technique using the blow drier. My girlfriend does the same thing, despite having extremely curly hair, and even though the proccess takes around an hour to do, it leaves her hair sily smooth, straight and fantastic :) Much safer than the flat iron i was using back in the day.
Again, amazing hair! :)
hey I will trade my straight hair for your curly. lol
We always seem to want what we don't have.
That is so true. All my life I've wished for long straight hair
instead of the curly hair I have that has a terminal length at
about my nipples. I'll admit that I'm jealous of guys with hair
2 or 3 feet long that just moves and flows with their movements.
Your hasn't straightened out some with that length? I have read that the curls will stretch out somewhat with added length. I'm kind of hoping my curls will stretch out by the time I reach mid-back length. I am not planning on using anything to straighten my hair though.
Ted
Yeah it has stretched a little but it is really curly, frizzy and
breaks easily and doesn't like to do anything without lots of product.
Although just recently I started using Argan oil which seems to
help a lot.
Well there's a few things which you need for any kind of heat styling. It sort of turns a lot of what you think you know on its head.
(1) Shampoos and Conditioners with "CONES" are essential. Forget what you've read about them leaving your hair dull and limp, (if that happens just use a clarifying shampoo and mild conditioner once every 3-4 weeks.) The 'silicones' have better heat resistance and they coat your hair giving it a smoother finish and better protection.
(2) Blot your hair dry with a towel or leave it 20-30 minutes so its not soaking wet before you begin.
(3) Leave in conditioners or ideally a heat protection spray should be applied before any heat styling.
(4) Technique. hair-dryers you need a flat nozzle attachment for your hair dryer and you need to use the hot setting not the cold setting. Section your hair and blow-dry as per this video with one adjustment: I wouldn't hold the hair-dryer quite so close to your hair when running it down the length keep it 1.5-2 inches away from your hair otherwise you risk frying your locks. And never let the hair dryer stay still when the nozzle is close to your hair, keep the nozzle moving and always keep it point down your hair.

(5) The last point about hair gloss is really for the ladies only. Not necessary.
Excellant hair Sorted!!
Amazing hair! Thanks for sharing.
Always great to hear from you, David -- and your amazing hair, too!! (LOL)
Hope all is well with you in the Canary Is., and a big CONGRATS on your 10 year hair anniversary!
I hope you visit here more often...

Hey David, Fantastic hair - I'd love to see a high ponytail with those layers? Like this one you posted a while back http://www.mlhh.org/archive/?276048
