Allright, so I realize that despite it beig 8:00 am CET time here in North-Western Europe, it´s probably still yesterday back in the States, as well as some other time of the day in Oceania and the Pacific, but hey, the idea is one and the same! =)
I would want to wish all your wonderful members of the MLHH a great monday, and a fantastic week alltogether! :)
As for me, I am heading to work in a couple minutes. Will have 3 days of working in a different class than my usual one with 4 year olds, and this time I will be working with the smallest kids we´ve got, the 1 year olds! :) Have done this before a few years back, and it´s a nice change of tempo... completely different than what I am used to, but it´s always fun when they crawl up on your lap and put a finger through your stretched lobe or pull on your long-ish hair, hehehe.
On the hair front, I am still debating on what is less damaging for my hair. To go with a beanie/ballcap pretty much exclusively when out of the house, or to simply go with the old gel. Getting some mixed info on what is worse for the hair growth and retention, so trying to use both at the moment.
The one thing that is clear, is that going with nothing on my head AND no producs is not an option, since THE FRO is really not aesthetically pleasing at the moment, when left as it is right after a shower, trust me :P
Some GOOD MONDAY wishes from here in Norway! Stay safe, and keep on growing! =)
P.S- the pic I am about to attach was taken in landscape mode, and will probably end up in a wrong direction.. got no time to start up the desktop pc, so taking a shot here on the iPad :)
Good morning Raul,or is it afternoon now?LOL.Is it Friday yet is also the next question;)TGIF! Congratulations, your picture is right side up this time.LOL.So let's see its Monday and not sure I want to celebrate that but yes, wishing all a nice week ahead:)As for your hair question why not just use a hat so when you take it off at the end of the day your hair ain't all gooped up.I never used gel myself back in the day but then my hair is different from yours.Anyway enjoy your week and try not let the little ones pull any hair out.Yikes!Cheers

Good Morning All;
I am off to Death Valley where it is currently 48 headed to the 80s. Still some snow on the mountains, but wildflowers in the valley.....perfect.
Have a good week, everyone
Walter
Good Morning Raul,
Thanks for the wishes for a good week! It sounds like you will be having a change of pace! That should be fun and hopefully the little ones don't mess with your hair too much!
As far as the gel or baseball cap that is a good question. I have heard bad things about both. The gels have alcohol in them sometimes which is supposed to dry the hair out. I have heard caps can restrict airflow to the hair. As far as my fro I have been stretching my washes and my hair tends to get flatter with each passing day. I am noticing it's getting easier to put it behind my ears though. Patience my friend, is what's needed here! You shall be richly rewarded for your patience!
Hope your week is productive and enjoyable as well my friend! As for me, I am headed to my dialysis treatment today. At least I have an inspiration for growing my hair who also goes there. This guy has been growing his hair for about 15 years. It was down past his tailbone. But it got tangled and he had to chop quite a bit off. His hair appears to be finer than mine. He usually puts a lot of it under his baseball cap. Have a great week my friend!

The only thing "Great" about Monday Morning is that it's only four-and-a-half days to go until Friday Afternoon! :p
But I hope everyone tries to enjoy the week anyway. :)

Actually I have to disagree. Any day when you wake up and you're still above ground is a great day. Also, even though it is
Monday, it's great to wake up in the morning and face another day
as a long hair.
It also helps that I have a job that I enjoy, a job that lets me
have long bair, that lets me wear what i want to wear.
And even though I started growing my hair long in 1964, it's still
great to wake up each day and enjoy having all this long hair. I
love having this long just as much today as I did in 1964 when
I started growing it. That long hair is every bit a part of me as
is my left arm or my rigth leg.
HA! A classic example of difference in viewpoint due to age.
I can identify with LHIA's response.
Yes lot of it has to do with age. Growing up I had lots of complaints from teachers, parents, relatives. But now that
i'm 58 years old, all the relatives who complained about my hair
have died, i'm gone from school and don't have to tolerate
dictatorial teachers and administrators, and my dad died back
in the 70s, and I read my mother the riot act back in the 90s.
My employer is good with my hair, so I haven't had complaints
im years.
Now at 58 i'm the eccentric uncle who has long hair, and I intend to keep it long until the day I die. I've seen alot of people die
over the years and my philosophy is life is too short to do what other people want like cut my hair or wear what they want me to wear. So as long as i'm alive and have hair to grow i'm going to keep the hair long. And luckily my hair genes tell me that
hair loss won't be an issue.
So hopefully when i'm in my 90s i'll still have long flowing white/grey hair. And it will be my natural color.
Ultimately when i'm on my death bed in my 90s I don't want to
be saying I should have kept my hair long.
What I was specifically referencing was your comment about any
day one wakes up and he is above ground is a good day but I
think everything else you said was good too.
Raul, [Shouting into the future from the other side of the Pond] Thank you, I hope your Wednesday is off to a as great a start as your mane is. Looks great! The "not aesthetically pleasing FRO phases" will pass.

Raul,
Ive been using products from the Fructis naturals line. Its very light weight without a lot of chemicals. The ingredients are plant based. It helps control my hair and seems to have minimal impact on it. I can easily run my fingers through my hair once its dry. Also the next day there's no residue left in my hair! Might be worth a try if you can get it where you live. Its made by garnier. Also it's really affordable which is a bonus.

Well, I'm jumping into this one kinda late, but just want to say that I hope you've all been having a good week, and are looking forward to a nice weekend!
Cheers,
Val
