This is what I have to put up with the day after shampooing if I don't put anything on it. THICK!!!!!! But it won't stop me!!!!!
What do you usually put on it exactly?
To tell you the honest truth, I don't usually put anything on my hair but a hat which obviously over so long a time will lay it down. Working at my job five and six days a week I am always wearing a hat at work to hide most my hair from my boss. I shampoo only once a week, so after the second to third day after shampooing my hair is oily enough to be tamed. As for what I put on at rare needed times when going out I do use V05 leave in conditioner. I might start trying vegetable oil to see how it works, I've never tried it before. KEEP IT LONG!!!!!
really doesn't look too bad. Now imagine having very very wavy hair (slightly curly)... believe me it's twice as bad. Somebody told me to put vegetable oil in my hair the day after shampooing, haven't tried it yet though.
Yea, I guess I'm rather lucky that my thick hair is relatively straight with a slight wave in back. I am going to try the vegetable oil thing. Does it matter what brand of vegetable oil? Can I use generic brands?
Get olive oil. Heat the oil a little, but don't get it so hot that it burns your scalp or damages your hair. This helps it absorb into the hair. I would advise shampooing first, drying your hair, then putting the oil on and letting it soak in a little before rinsing it out, possibly shampooing again. You can use as much as you want really, but the more you use, the more affect it will have. I used a whole crapload and it made my hair basically appear totally soaked all the time. I didn't like that much, and had to shampoo it a few times to get it back to normal. It did really shoften my hair and reduced alot of the flipping that goes along with the "awkward" stage.
Thanks for the advise. That sounds like what I will do. It sounds like it will give me the "wet" look for most the day which is what I want. Great news man! KEEP IT LONG, RIGHT OR WRONG!!!!!
To me, olive oil has an unacceptably strong odor. Canola oil works just as well and doesn't smell.
Man, a lot of people have very dry hair here. My hair is naturally oily so I have to shampoo and condition everyday.
My hair is really thick, but if I don't shampoo it once at least every other day, it gets so oily I can't stand it.
Relax!!! Let it be! Enjoy your hair and where it falls, it falls! Take care and happy growing!
