Allright, so as you all know, about two weeks ago I decided to try growing a full beard out, for the first time in my life. Always have been sporing some short facial hair, but never a full on lumberjack beard.
At first my girl hated the idea. She wasn't crazy about me wanting long hair again either, so long hair AND beard? Not really something she was looking forward to.
Then... a week or two passed. 17 days to be precise.
Now? She can't take her hands off my face! She absolutely LOVES the beard, and wants me to keep growing it, as, apparently, it makes me look all manly and rugged... grrrr :D hehe.
I did experience some itchiness after about a week or so, but I am putting on Aloe Vera gel daily, and it really helps soothe the skin!
So far, I absolutely love it!
Fun fun fun! =)
Hi Raul,
Great to hear your lumberjack efforts are being accepted:) I think you will look great with a full beard. I guess once you get past the itchy(awkward?) stage, everything gets better. I couldn't grow a decent beard or moustache if my life depended on it:) Thanks for the usual nice picture of both of you. Keep up the good work my friend!
Ted
Heya Ted!
Thanks, bud!
Yeah, the itchiness has already gone and now it feels pretty natural to have all this fur around my face, hehe.
As I said to Serge above, enjoy your hair bro.. beads usually come and go, but long hair is something to enjoy for many many years, if not forever :)
Ooh, it's so cool! I extremely love beards! And yours one really suits you a lot. And it's so great that your girlfriend loves it too. Women don't always love beards, as far as I see. At least I hear the reactions of women around my bearded friends :) So you're twice lucky!
It's such a pitty I don't have a nice one myself yet. Hope I'll be able to grow a nice (not a thin and fair one I can have now) one too. Later on, in future :)
Serge.
Heya Serge!
Thanks for the kind words, brother :)
Yeah, I am indeed lucky with my girl loving my beard, even more so than my hair, might I add :P Guess something good came out of these eastern european genes after all, eh?
Don't sweat it bro, with hair like yours, who needs a beard? =)
Hey Raul,
Your beard is coming in nicely so I don't think you'll have any problem transforming yourself into a mountainman!LOL. I've had facial hair for as long as I can remember but never cared for it when it got too bushy.Who knows, maybe someday I'll shave it off just to see what I look like clean shaven.Have to go back many years to when I was that way.Cheers
Mârk
Thanks Mark! Gotta' have something else to focus on while the hair taks it's time, eh? ;)
As i've mentioned previously I loved having a beard, I hated the
war I had to fight to keep it clean. No matter how careful i was
eating the beard could not be kept clean.
Noticing it already, LHIA, pretty much ANYTHING that can WILL stick to it! hehe
It keeps however your shirt clean!

The beard looks really good on you and no worries about the itching that will go away.
Gone already, Vince! Love it so far! :)
Great looking start on the beard, Raul!
Happy growing on the north and south side of the head.

Congratulations - si la mai mare! (Romanian: "and more of it")
I grew my beard more than 20 years ago (after leaving Romania). I remember having some itching for a couple of weeks, until it grew to about 1/2 inches, then the itching subsided.
My wife likes it (and my hair), and my older son said that he will grow a beard when he gets old enough...
It has some advantages, such as protection against cold and wind, and catcher for food that otherwise would end on my shirt :-)
Nature knew men are messy eaters, so they grow their own natural bibs. :-)

Hi Raul,
Congrats on your first beard, and you are doing very well indeed for two weeks, and it looks good. Keep up the good work, and as the others said, the itching will go away.
Keep everything growing,
David
