Several of you will remember my going to a job interview on Monday afternoon at a retirement village. The position was working at the front desk. Wanted to tell you that it went real well. I spoke to the two guys who would be over me for probably about 30 minutes. Very friendly and cordial. They said that Monday was their first day of interviewing and volunteered to tell me that I was the first one to be talked to, because my online application stood far and above the other 20+ that they got for the position.
I felt totally comfortable and at home, my waist-length ponytail never even crossing my mind. Or theirs, apparently. It was never mentioned.
I understand it will be a few days before I hear anything definite. But, I was encouraged that they didn't make the hair an issue, because my ability to actually do the job was more important. I figured the attitude they showed would be an encouragement to you, too.
Will post something else, if I find out I get the job.
Steve
That is very encouraging, hopefully you'll get the job and won't have to chop off your fantastic looking hair.
Thanks for sharing your positive story about doing a job interview with longhair. This shows to everyone here that longhair is not an issue when looking for a job.
I hope they will hire you!
Great to hear! Will keep fingers crossed for you.

Great news and I am so happy to read of this! :-) Perhaps some people might just begin to wake-up from their petty anti-long hair band wagons and realize that the problems going on around the globe today are a far bigger threat to their very survival than a guy with long hair. Again, great news and I am very happy for you.
All the best-
Justin~
Well, from what you said, it sounds like you're a cinch! Keeping my fingers crossed anyway, though... You never know with these things.
Hi Steve,
I am very happy to hear this good news. Of course, we all know that hair length has absolutely nothing to do with job performance. Here's hoping and praying you get the job you are qualified for and deserve! Please take care!
Ted
Congratulations !!
Remember also that interviews are two ways streets.....sounds like your potential employers have passed your muster !!
Let us know the outcome.
Thanks for Sharing
