In this photo, is the ponytail doubled up? How would one exactly do that? And does a doubled up ponytail make the tail appear shorter than what it actually is? The hair itself was a mullet, so only long on the sides behind the ears and back.
You can easily see that because of the streaks of light that bend near the bottom.
It might be, and then again, it might just be curly.
In order to make tying a tail easier, instead of sliding the binding all the way up the shaft, you fold the hair on itself and then pull it through the binding. Looping like that is just not pulling it all the way through.
Since only a portion of the hair is actually hanging from the tail, yes, it would look shorter.
