Hey there ! My name is Dave. I am 24 yrs old. I live in Buenos Aires, Argentina and I have been growing my hair out for 11 months now aprox.
This is how my hair looks now :
I know i have some split ends, but that´s okay ! My brother (who is a hairdresser) said that I should cut those split ends, but they dont really bother me at all and I learned other tricks to get them fixed without cutting them ( i will share that with you later haha)
Does anyone know aprox. how long it could take for my hair to achieve the shoulder lenght? I guess that is my goal right now.
David-
Welcome to the MLHH Dave. You will find this a friendly and helpful community.
You are off to a great start and will be at shoulder length quickly.
Thanks for Sharing

Hi David,
Welcome to the mlhh as I'm sure you will enjoy your visit here and hopefully you stick around. As for your question I'd say you look so close to shoulder length now I can't see it taking much longer than a few months to reach that goal.Based on a 1/2 inch growth per month that would give you approx. 2 more inches of length:)Also for the split ends its been suggested using the seek and destroy method for dealing with those but frankly I never bother to look for those myself and also have never cut my hair in years.Anyway your hair does look fabulous and suits you very well my friend:) Cheers

Hi David,
Welcome to the MLHH board! You will find a lot of good advice and inspiration here! Your hair is looking really nice and I think in about a year you will be at the length you want. It may be even a little less than a year. Your hair looks to be in great condition and has nice color. In fact, I think you look kind of like Johnny Depp.
Please keep us updated on your hair growth progress! I look forward to your future updates! Have a wonderful weekend my friend! I sure wish I lived in Buenos Aires!
Ted
Hey Dave, welcome to the board! I certainly hope you'll get as much joy and inspiration hanging out here as I have.
Your hair looks really great, I can tell you've been taking pretty good care of it. Don't worry too awful much about the split ends, most of mine just deal with themselves during normal shedding. As for your goal length, it looks like you're brushing your shoulders already! But in regards to every strand touching your shoulders, I'd say about three or four months for the furthest ones to reach.
In any case, I hope you have a great time on your longhair journey, and I look forward to more posts from you!
Gr8. hair & look = this hair MUST grow past da butt = I decree ... hehehe
Thanks dude! Your hair looks AMAZING. Perfect texture ! I love it.
Hair grows at 1/2 inch per month. You can do the math.
The best way to grow your hair long is to not cut it. I wouldn't worry about the split ends.

Welcome to MLHH, Dave. Your hair should reach shoulder length in just a few months. Be patient, it won't be long to reach your first goal.
What is the tattoo of? It looks like the ends of bird's wings.

Hey!
This is the tattoo that I have on my chest

Regarding hair growth. Do you consider my hair as going through the awkward stage or you think Im not there anymore?
Most people say that I have long hair but for me is not that long as to be considered long haha.
Thanks for your advice!

In my opinion, you are at the end of the awkward stage. It should get easier from this point on. Another year of growth and your hair will be past your shoulders for sure.
Love the tattoo. Really nice.

Heya Dave,
That´s some great looking hair you´ve got there, and it looks as if you´re already way ahead of the curve in growing it! Is it colored red, or is that your naural coloring in the sunlight? Cool color :)
Well, its not actually my real color and it looked red in the sunlight haha.
Look (you can see my roots there haha)
A few weeks ago I painted my hair black. Yes, black. The darker black ever. And I loved it. That is not my natural color either, but that will let my real color grow without having such disgusting roots. It looks way better to me now. And I did this to stop painting my hair because that really damages it.
Have you considered Search and Destroying? (S&Ding)
Basically all you need is some sharp scissors and good lighting.
All you do is snip the splits off the hairs that are damaged.
If you don't remove the damage it is possible that it will slow you down on the way to your goal since the hairs that are damaged will eventually unravel and break off. Trims aren't necessary unless you want a specific type of hemline. :) Post more photos as you grow!
