A strange thing happened yesterday when I was at the grocery store.
A woman said "I love your hair."
In all the 49 years i've had long hair i've never had that happen before.
On another note It's a beautiful day here, close to 70 degrees so
I can finally go without a shirt and enjoy having my hair
cascading down my back (it's now about 3/4 of the way down to waist length.)

I've had that compliment quite a bit. Usually older ladies of the blue persuasion.

I would venture a guess that this woman was probably older than
60.
It wss two days after my last shampoo/conditioner.
I've occassionally gotten compliments from guys about my hair but this is the first from a woman who I didn't know.
I get compliments on my hair from strangers occasionally, but it always seems to happen when it's greasy and disheveled from the wind, never when it actually looks good.

Nice to hear there are people who appreciate a nice mane and aren't too shy to let you know. I would have thought you always get complimented on your hair. I can't tell the total length in your pic, but I'm sure it is lovely.
Nice to hear you're having good weather and can enjoy your hair down. I am of the opinion that long hair should always be worn loose. Of course, this is not always practical:) Are you letting your hair grow back to waist? Great week to you my friend even though it's almost over!

Thank you. It is 3/4 of the way back to waist length.
I usually wear it loose, except when it is windy or there is
a chance of it getting damaged.
Back in the 80s I had kneed length hair, at that time I found it
too long to take care of. I cut it back to waist length but
have always regretted doing that. But now that i'm 58 years old
i'm very tempted to grow it now to terminal length which i'm
hoping will be what it was in the 80s.
At 58 years old i'd have to doubt I could reach the length I had
in the 80s but i'm very tempted to try for it anyways.
After all life is short, and the time to grow my hair even longer is now while i'm still alive.
Nothing wrong with that, you should feel proud! :) I can't wait until I can feel my hair on my back. Happy growing. :)
Thank you. I especially enjoyed in the 80s when my hair
was flowing down my back to knee length. In the summer it was great having hair that was longer than my shorts. (The hair was
down to the knees, the shorts were about 4 inches above the knee. I really loved feeling all that hair. So much so that i'm now tempted to try growing my hair that long again. Even though I felt later in the 80s that knee length was too long. But after I cut it back to waist length later in the 80s I regretted it and still do. Even though it was a pain to take care of i'm still dying to try it again and this time make it work.
It happens sometimes - usually black ladies are the ones who like my hair

I get a lot of comments on my hair. This is due to extreme length more than anything else.

Although my hair is not as long as yours, that also happens to me when I go to nightclubs. Random people telling me that they like my hair or even touching it without my permission.
But hey, why not feeling proud of it? haha Your hair looks amazing. Can't wait to reach your length!
The only person who touches my hair without my permission is one
woman I know. I've known her for a number of years no so I don't
mind. (She is also the wife of the past dept commander of the civil war group i'm in. )
