I've heard that johoba oil is good for the hair. I got some at Trader Joes and have been working 3-4 drops through my hair at night. It seems on the mornings after that even after washing my hair is less frizzy and generally lays better. Do any of you know if this is recommended?
Yes, oils in general tend to reduce the dryness of your hair. By doing that you also control frizz ( frizz is produced by dry hair ).
You can also do this:
- wash hair
- when hair is damped, apply the oil over your hair.
- let it dry ( it may take longer since it has oil over it)
But once its dry it will look great and will reduce frizz a 90% . Believe me. I've done that with olive oil and works so good.
Pretty much any nut/seed oil, used in moderation will have this effect...of course each person's hair will react a little differently, so you might want to try a few different ones for best results.
I have used Jojoba oil in the past and found it was useful for protecting my ends and good for controlling my frizzy hair. I did however tend to use it only 2 days after my hair wash as my ends tend to dry out more and it helps keep the hair ends better protected when dry until the next use of conditioner.
I have since found better hair oils called Moroccan and Aegean.
These oils are totally safe for hair and are completely natural.

I have used that oil and coconut oil in the past and they do help with dry hair. However be careful not to overdo the amount you apply as it can weigh your hair down and make it look rather flat. This happened to me a few times as it looked as if I hadn't washed my hair in weeks!LOL.Regardless give it a try as I'm certainly not knocking it.Cheers

Thanks guys! Great advice and suggestions as always.
Hi Tony,
I tend to stay away from the oils. It seems at this length of my hair they encourage the waviness. I may change my mind when my hair gets considerable length. I think these oils are very important on the ends of long hair. By long hair I mean at least below shoulder length hair. Of course, each person's mileage may vary here. Your hair is looking fantastic by the way:) Great week to you my friend!
