WOW!! I just found this site and I love it! I've had long hair for several years. . .half way down my back and then (stupidly) cut it for a job that never happened. So now I'm growing it back. Currently, it's at my shoulders.
I've had the whole job descrimination thing before and am fearing it again. Any advice?
What matters is how YOU feel. It's YOUR hair. I think I saw the word "stupidly" there, and if that is how you felt before about cutting it, then there's your answer. (((grin)))
Hang in there guy, because there are plenty of people in the world who do not hate longhairs! Wouldn't you rather work in an environment with those people?
Looking for a job with long hair can be like looking for an apartment with a dog. All the people in the park with dogs found places to live with them, and all the longhairs you see in the cafes found a way to support themselves. Some people might turn you down, but if you like your hair or your dog, you keep looking. Just don't panic should the first attempt be a rejection - instead think of all the others out there who have succeeded, and keep looking!
