Hey guys!
I wanted to share with you all this DIY (Do It Yourself) treatment for dry hair that works perfectly.
I read several times online that mayonnaise is good for hair because of its ingredients. Mayonnaise contains eggs, vinegar or lemon juice, and oil. All three of these ingredients are good for moisturizing hair and the combination will give you shiny locks.
This also works for people with very dry/frizzy hair (thats why I tried it).
Basically what you do is :
1- Damp your hair with likewarm water (hair should not be wet, it should be damp before you apply mayo)
2- Apply mayonnaise onto your hair, including scalp, ends, etc.
3- Put on a shower cap and leave it on for 1 hour (You can even leave it on overnight if you want. The longer you leave it on, the more it will condition)
4- Wash out with cold water. At this point you can wash out with shampoo and then conditioner. Or like I did, just wash it out with cold water, just water.
The reason why I prefer washing it out with water only, is because I tend not to use shampoo and prefer to retain the oils from the mayonnaise. Dont worry! If you dont wash out with shampoo your hair will not smell like a salad, I swear.
I did this last night , had mayo on my hair for 1 hour, then washed it out with cold water and my hair the results were amazing. Your hair will be soft, shinny, not frizzy, straighter and works even better than applying hair masks .
It is suggested to do this at least once a week, depending on how damaged your hair is.
You can find a lot of information online about using mayonnaise on your hair.
Give it a try guys. You'll love this.
Did you read the list of ingredients for a commercial mayonnaise? It's better to use a good cold pressed olive oil, mixed with an egg (preferrably without the white) and if you want with some vinegar or lemon juice. Much better for your hair, especially if you use the mixture for a longer time than just a few minutes.
Try a good oil (olive oil, almonds oil, jojoba oil, whatever) alone and you will get amazing results also.
Try it and tell us if the mayo is really better.
Hey friend!
Yes, in fact I've already tried olive oil before (I didnt even bother to try other oils, because olive oil is the heaviest and the only one that could work for me since I have super dry hair)
I find mayo a lot better because is not as greasy as olive oil but in my hair the results are better.
While olive oil keeps the frizz under control it also makes my hair wavier. Mayo keeps the frizz under control and no waves at all.
