All,
My website has been hacked. It is a relatively benign hack, but I am currently investigating what vulnerability was taken advantage of. Evidence reviewed so far indicates the upload script may be to blame, so I have temporarily disabled it.
THIS MEANS YOU MAY NO LONGER UPLOAD FILES UNTIL FURTHER NOTICE
I have noticed lately that uploaded pictures do not show in the public directory listing. They are, however, there, because when I type in the image location, the pic comes up. The file simply isn't shown in the listings.
I figured it was just my machine (Win ME) but with this new development, I thought I should say something.
The Rev
When I initially upload a picture file to the directory and click on view folder it doesn't show, but if I immediatly go back to the hyperboard main page and click on Upload Picture and then click on View Upload Folder at the bottom of that page the file is then showing at the top of the list. Not sure why it works this way, but it does.
What happens if you just hit reload? sometimes that works.
It sounds like you are running into a cache issue. Your listing is being displayed from cache rather than querying the server. If you click refresh, you should get a fresh listing. If you are behind a proxy server, try CTRL-Refresh (Windows IE -- not sure what it would be in other situations).
Or maybe it's shift-refresh (I think this works for Netscape as well)
Option-reload in Netscape on my Macintosh PowerPC.
Alan, on my PowerMac, it's command-shift-R (or shift-reload). That's in 4.79, tho.
