Hey All!
I am looking for a new job and have thought about possibly putting my hair in a pony tail for interview(s). I haven't had a problem with wearing my hair long at Frontier Airlines in Corporate or while driving for RTD in Denver/Boulder.
I just want another option with they way I my hair in interviews. My hair is about two inches longer then in the pic I have attached.
Suggestions/Input would be appreciated.
Thanks!

PS. I usually smile! :)
First, do you want to wear it slicked back, or do you want to wear a part (as you are in your pic)? Most guys prefer a slick-backed ponytail.
For a slick-backed tail, use a comb starting at the hairline at the top of your forehead, and comb straight back, keep working down the sides of your face, straight from hairline to back. Grasp hair at nape of neck with your free hand, comb back any stragglers. Still grasping hair, slip a hair tie over it and pull through. If tie is to loose, give it a quick twist and pull hair through again.
If you prefer a part, comb hair down and back from your part, follow the rest above.
If you have trouble getting hair to stay neat until you get it tailed, try wetting your hands and slicking the hair back to dampen it. That will help to hold it until you fasten it with the tie. If you have short hairs sticking out, you can use a small amount of gel to hold them in place.
You can probably find some demo videos on YouTube showing you how, following the video might be easier. Once you get the hang of it, you'll be able to do it easily.
Based on your picture and description of current hair length, you should be able to get the majority of your hair into the hair tie. Be sure you are using cloth, elastic or silicone hair ties/fasteners. Don't use a rubber band (it will actually damage hair).
Hope you have good luck with any interviews.
Thank you so much JustCarol! I'll keep you and everyone updated...

If it doesn't seem to be tight enough, you can always part the tail in two, and then pull them apart a bit in order to keep it tighter.
Thanks .mkl!
