So I've been loathe to use hair accessories because with the curls, everything just seems to pinch, tangle, and break. Occasionally I'll use large ponytail holders, but there's always an inevitable *snap* when I go to take it out.
A more proper update on my hair will come soon, I just wanted to share this as it has been most helpful to me.

Hi That "Ball" Guy,
I must say you have some wonderful hair with all of those nice curls! That is a great way to keep your hair looking neat and out of your face. I will be waiting for your update with great anticipation. I really like the ear gauges-those are awesome! Please keep it growing and flowing!

Interesting wooden hairpiece, I remember years ago (before my infamous Y2K impulsive short haircut) I was at a summer outdoor local faire myself with my nieces up in Roseburg, OR (not an actual Ren. Faire; but a lot of arts & crafts for sale nonetheless), and I came across that exact same style of hair accessory made out of smooth polished wood.
I bought it (along with a different style of wooden hair stick, shaped like a single curved wooden chop stick), but unfortunately rarely wore either of them out in public... I have no clue if I even still have either one of those wooden hair accessories (I have a notorious bad habit of not always keeping my possessions in a neat & orderly fashion around here at home).
But, regardless of the above, I do remember LIKING those wooden hair accessories (I also used to own a smooth polished wooden comb that I greatly loved as well)...
What I thought was pretty cool though was that I remember the woman who sold me the wooden comb (at a different arts & crafts event here in Calif.) instructed me on how to care for the wood itself: that it occasionally needed to be oiled -- just like I do with a small amount of olive oil into the lower half of my hair itself, to cut down on the dryness & split ends!
Anyway, thanks for posting this -- and I can imagine that with curly hair like yours, I would think that this hair accessory would work even better for you than I remember it did with my own wavy but much straighter hair.

Great to hear from you, Kevin!
That's a nice idea - I'll have to try one.
I keep my hair up in a bun most of the time now.

Hey there -That "Ball" Guy,
Yes, I've seen accessories like this as awhile a go I bought a pair of wooden hair sticks from a site recommended for such items.I like stuff like that better than what you'd get at a pharmacy or big box store as it does have more class:)Looks like it does a fine job holding your hair and looks good while doing it:)Always cool seeing you stop back in to let us know how your doing.Be well my friend.Cheers

Hey bro!
Love the body mods and the hair... how big are those gauges? I am at around 9/16" and think I will stay there for a while. You must be rather much bigger than that, hehe.
Love the curls as well, they really suit you, and that pick is looking awesome! Wonder if it would hold less curly hair just as well!
