Should I cut my hair? It has almost been 2 years since my last hair cut...some like it and others don't... but I also have alopecia...which for those of you who don't know is hair loss in patches...it does grow back eventually but is embarrassing nonetheless...opinions and comments are welcome
Chris, I'm sorry you suffer from alopecia, sounds like a bummer. But it would seem that wearing your hair longer would be preferable because it would cover the patches where the hair falls out? How large ARE the bald spots when they occur?
Don
Don...it really depends on how stressed I am haha. They can very from 1/2" up to 2" in diameter.
No, but the alopecia may change this depending upon its severity and your preference to 'hide' it.
I would say not to cut it.
As far as the alopecia, i'm not a doctor nor do I play one on TV
but i'd think having long hair would be preferable so that the hair loss patches can be covered. It would seem to me the shorter the hair the more obvious the patches.
Hell NO! You look great with it. Suits you
Thank you SJ :)
Hi chris,
Welcome to the board! I am happy you came here to ask your question! Of course, you will find much support for growing your lovely hair! I think you should let it grow and grow. The color and waviness is just beautiful! You would look great with long hair!
I am not sure about Alopecia. Maybe the longer hair would tend to hide the patches of missing hair? This is surely my hope! I would try not to be embarrassed because this is part of you.
I do hope you decide to let your hair grow! I believe you would be happy with it. Hope you have a wonderful rest of the weekend my friend!
Ted
Thank you ted!! I do like it and hate to part with it!! Haha :)
Well, Chris - probably most of us here will tell you to keep it long -
As far as I can see in your photo - your hair looks great - I'd be proud of it, if I were you.
No! :-)
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles,
And by opposing end them?
This hair length/style suits you very well. And, from the picture I would NOT cut it. Congrats on your journey!
