Hi everyone,
I saw this on TV this morning. This woman has 7 foot long hair. I freaked out. Comments are welcome. Great day to you all!
Ted
I have a really short aunt who is less than 5' in height and her hair was longer than 5' at one point. Unfortunately she started getting really bad migraines and cut it back a few feet. My wife is 5' tall and has had ~4'ish hair as for the past 10 years. She trims the ends a couple times a year so it stays at that length. Must be something to do with the super short folks?

Hi Tommy,
Yes, it must be. That's a bummer when it causes migraines. I did work with a woman one time who had very thick hair down past her butt. She also got headaches, but wouldn't cut her hair. Her ponytail had to be 4" all the way to the end. Wonderful thickness she had.

But sadly in China, more of these kind of super-longhair ladies always get their beautiful hair cut after they've been growing out their hair super long. i hate that!
Hi ahseng,
That is very sad to hear! I don't understand that really. They must have a reason.
Ted
most of them are having financial difficulties so by selling their hair, it can lighten their burden a little bit.
I see now. That is very unfortunate I must say.
As somone who had knee length hair in the 1980s i'd point out there are several reasons why. Longer than waist length is
very difficult to take care of. When my hair was knee length it
was much more difficult to shampoo, condition, and brush or comb.
It was also much easier to get it tangled and get it caught in
places it shouldn't be caught in. It was also susecptable to damage. And there are times where all that hair can
give you a headache/migfaine/etc.
When I had knee length hair I cut it back to waist length where it was more manageable. That was back in the 80s i'm now determined to grow my hair back to that length but i'm beginning to doubt I can do it again.
I'm also convinced that if you're going to have hair that is longer than knee length that you need lots of money to hire
you're own personal hair care person to help shampoo/condtion/
comb/brush the hair and keep it from getting damaged.
As great as it was to have knee length hair it was alot of hair
to take care of on a daily basis. I loved having hair that long
but it too much to take care of. It was great having hair that was longer than my cut off shorts but it was also impossible to really enjoy the length when I was mountain climbing, bike riding, etc. There were too many times where I couldn't wear that knee length hair loose to really enjoy it. When I had it waist length and even now it is loose 90% of the time, which
is something I could not do at knee length. It felt really great to have that knee length cascading down my back cascading down my legs. It was a really great feeling to walk outside
in my cut off shorts and no shirt and have my hair flowing down
my back and down the legs to my knees. Unfortunetly when I was mountain climbing/biking/jogging the hair had to be reatstned in
a bun/tied in a pony tail or braid/and or tucked inside a shirt
or jacket. There were few times when the length could really be enjoyed unlike at waist length (or nipple length where it is now.)
Now YMMV, you should absolutely grow your hair to terminal length and then decide for yourself what your optimal hair
length is.
Hi LHIA,
Thanks for the detailed reply! I am wondering how much tangling I can expect at waist length. Right now, at about shoulder length, my doesn't seem to tangle much. I sure hope that doesn't change at longer lengths. I can't wait to get to waist length.
Ted
You're weloome.
The longer the hair the more susceptable to tangling. That is why on windy/stormy days/or when there is the risk of damage to hair i restrain it in a pony tail/pig tail/braid/bun.
YMMV.
Some day I'll have hair like that. Some day...
Thanks for this, Ted!
Hi Septet,
Yes, one of these days we will all have this! I don't know about you, but I'm aiming for waist length! That is if my hair genes allow it! Glad you liked this!
Ted
