Ok, as a followup to my last thread I decided to mix it up a bit.Nothing new with the hair but decided to pair it up with low rise jeans as opposed to that high rise pair I ran with earlier. To me the jeans go great with longhair just like longhair does with Harley motorcycles or Rock/ Metal music.I know, maybe I'm stretching it a bit but gotta have some fun:)I just received this custom pair of jeans I had ordered to my specifications:)Cheers

Mârk - what was that song from a few years back?
"i'm too sexy for my pants... too sexy for my hair... too sexy..."
LOL - you got more nerve and confidence than me! very cool.
Fitz
Ha ha, that's a good one as I forgot about that tune!Very appropriate for the occasion though.Yes, I like to push the limits when I can:)Guess you can say it takes the negative focus off hair;) He he.Thanks for your reply my friend.Cheers.
Mârk
Actually it's "I'm too sexy for my shirt too sexy for my shirt."
It's called "improvising" to fit the moment, Albany!
Absolutely! Low skinny jeans would be perfect. Do you mind if
I ask where you ordered the custom jeans?
It doesn't hurt to accessorize long hair.:-)
Yes, I can agree with your statement about accessorizing your hair:)As for the jeans I ordered them online from a company known as makeyourownjeans. You submit the measurements, the style of denim, thread color, pocket style, etc and they make and ship them to your door.I've ordered two pairs from them but must warn you to be careful of your measurements to avoid a lot of trial and error.I found out about this company through a guy on ebay that I bought jeans from. His measurements were similar to mine so he actually loaned me two pairs of his custom jeans for me to "test drive".They fit perfectly so I copied all his measurements for my original pair. The second pair, which I'm wearing in this post,I adjusted a couple measurements for a lower rise and tighter fit on the calves.Best to checkout the site and see the options for yourself.I'll include a link below.Good luck and let me know if you ultimately get a pair from them.Cheers

http://www.makeyourownjeans.com
Thanks Mark!
Looks like a good site. I'm going to have to try it. I've found
sites to make custom belts for me and one where I got a couple of
custom rings made, now I can get custom jeans.
To bad there isn't a site for custom hair! hehe. I'd get some
nice straight waist length hair in stead of the curly frizzy
hair I have now that has a terminal length at my nipples when
stretched. I can only dream.
Hi MG,
Well believe me if you can't create a cool pair of jeans off that site nothing will satisfy you.lol.Well be sure you look at all the options as you can really customize your jeans all the way down to the rivets and thread color! Please let me know if you ultimately get a pair from them:)Yea, you can get custom hair if you want to do extensions but I'd pass on those.LOL.Cheers my friend.
Mârk
Actually this isn't new. Levis introduced the concept years ago.
It wasn't cheap.
Locally we had a levis store in one of the malls that did this.
I think it started seveal years ago and I beleive the cost was
in the $200 neighborhood.
Hi MG,
I love this idea! However, be not dismayed! There are people who pay good money for curls and absolutely hate btheir straight, flat, always falling in their face hair. I have known a few. And I'm sure you have too! Don't they just piss you off! Please enjoy your wonderful curly hair! Terminal length you can do nothing about. I do sympathize with you, however.
Ted
Hi Mark,
Awesome pic of you in those cool jeans! The jeans are looking great on you my friend! But then again, I do believe you would look great in ripped up faded old jeans! What can I say? Now all we need is a pic of you on a Harley or jammin' on a Fender! Thanks for the update!
Ted
Hi Ted,
Thank you as always for the kind words and of course suggestions:)Well now I do have to admit I bought that belt I'm wearing from an actual Harley store so you nailed that one!As for the bike unfortunately I don't ride or play the guitar sadly.lol. Well at least I have the look so will have to be happy with that:) Cheers my friend.

Mark, you've joined the 21st century! I never could understand why you always wore high-rise jeans in your recent pics; they went out of fashion years ago here in Europe and the US must have caught up by now.
Out-of date clothes have a way of making people look way older than they really are - as if they're too old to follow trends and have given up. You're still relatively young - make the most of it!
You've got an awesome slim physique. Low-rise jeans are where it's at; they do you justice, they make you look younger, far more modern and 'with it', they totally complement your long hair, and combined with that plain black T-shirt and studded belt they make you look every inch a rockstar (whether you really are or not is irrelevant!). You now officially rock!
You now have an amazing image, man! Ditch those old-fashioned high-rise jeans and rock on with your new ones! :)

Hi Damon,
Wow what can I say other than not that is a response!lol. You know I kinda figured I'd get some sort of response from you on this thread but not quite this extensive.lol. Yea I know those high rise jeans are dated but back in the day that's what I wore since low rise wasn't around then.I do like that last pair only because they literally fit like a second skin! You probably can't imagine how tight those jeans are but to put it in perspective they left marks on my skin around the hips when I removed them. Still these low rise jeans present a totally different look and feel that I truly love:)I'm grateful there is a company that does custom work because I really pushed the limits on this pair. I had them make the front and back rise as low as possible just enough to keep it decent;) lol. Well I could go on and on but I did a total top to bottom customization including the pocket style, thread color to even the kind of rivets used. Anyway I appreciate your great answer and am happy you were honest about it my friend.Cheers

Glad you weren't offended by my candid response. I was worried after I posted that I may have come across as rude. Certainly not my intention. I was just so glad you got those fashionable new jeans!
Yeah, I love that feel of the jeans barely hanging onto my hips. An erotic sensation that high-rise jeans will never have! :)
I've checked out the company you linked to. I think I might get them to make me some too. I've got a 3" wide studded belt I love but the belt-loops on standard jeans aren't wide enough to take it.
Yeah, you're right: I always reply to posts about skinny jeans. It seems strange on a longhair board. But hey, long hair and skinny jeans go together like strawberries and cream! :)
Damon
---------------------------------------------
Hi Damon,
Oh please don't worry about giving me your honest opinion as I'd rather have that then for you to tell me what you think I may "want" to hear. Yes there is definately a special feeling of wearing low rise jeans and the fact I wore that short tank top made it even more so ;) I do love the look and feel of it except in the winter since my belly would get cold! Lol.
Oh yes by all means give makeyourownjeans a fair shot as I love the level of customization you can do. I don't recall an option about the belt loop size but e mail them and ask if it isn't listed as I'm sure they can accommodate you on that:)Well whatever you do please post a pic if you get a pair as I'd love to see your creation my friend:)Cheers
Mârk
Haha! I think you'd be wearing something a bit more substantial than a "short tank top" with your jeans during a New York winter!
Yeah, there's an add-on for wider belts on that site (link below). Default is for a 2" belt but I'm hoping they make them for a 3" belt if I ask nicely! I'll defo post a pic if/when I get a pair.
Here's a pic of me wearing the belt - but hung on my hips outside the jeans. That was nearly two years ago. Hair was shorter then!
Damon
------------------------------------------------------
Wider Belt
Hi Damon,
Yes, definately e mail them to confirm about the wider belt loops as I'm sure they would do that. That's whats nice about their custom jeans, the ability to pick and choose the details of the finished product over and above just the sizing:)I may even consider doing a third pair with a another kind of denim:)They have sooooo much to chose from. Yea!!!!!Cheers my friend and good luck should you choose to get yourself a pair:)
Mârk
Mârk
But then on many days duering a New York winter i'm
wearing my cut off shorts. especially when you go into
stores/offices/etc. where it is 80+ degrees.
I don't wear low rise jeans, all of mine are the traditional
"high rise" jeans, even the cut off shorts are.
Back in college I could have worn low rise jeans, now
they don't fit well with the added weight i've put on
since college.
(But then in college I was 110 pounds, for my height my ideal weight should be in the 160 pound neighborhood. )
At 58 years old I don't forsee my self ever being able to wear
low rise jeans.
Hi LHIA,
Well I beg to differ as I bet you'd look fine in low rise stretch jeans.Frankly they are more comfortable to wear than 100% cotton ones because of the fact they give with your body movements:)So you get the best of both worlds, snug fit but comfortable to wear:) Think about it my friend.Cheers
Mârk
I've tried them on at the store. I'm not slim enough anymore for them. I could have worn them back in the 70s, but not now. I'd be significantly below the ideal weight for my height.
Mark,
INCREDIBLE- looking jeans! And as always, STELLAR hair!!!
But, the "real" question is: who are the 2 kids in the black & white photo in the background?
(My guess is that this must be you and your brother when you were younger, eh?)
Curious minds want to know! (LOL)
- Ken
Hi Ken,
Ha ha, I was wondering if anyone would bring up that picture on the wall so you are the winner my friend!Well needless to say your guess is the correct one as that is me and my bro:) I have to cringe looking at the haircuts we had back then but then no one ever asked me if I'd prefer to grow it out;) Funny though if you ever want to see pics of me in short hair you'd have to go back to my adolescent years since once I became and adult my hair grew longer as my age creeped up.Now look at me being this old guy with low jeans barely covering his butt! LOL.Well I've always said I'm different and not your average typical guy. Personally I kinda like that:) Hope all is well with you Ken as we'll have to chat again soon.Cheers
Mârk
You guys and your skinny jeans are just nuts :)! I think it's one of those thing that my OCD just can't stand, and that is wearing tight pants lol. I don't wear the super huge, or even baggy jeans, but I can't stand my pants to be skin tight, especially in the man part region! I need a little breathing room!
Very cool on the custom jean website though, I'll have to check it out! I can never seem to find my perfect size of W30-L32 in stores so that may be a good option!
-Tommy
Oh Tommy you just don't get it. Lol. It's like all those excuses you hear from guys why they can't grow long hair. Too hot in the summer, looks too messy during the awkward phase, gets in my eyes or mouth! Guess you get the idea so yes with longhair there is some discomfort or annoyance but you just live with it and same goes for skinny jeans. Frankly they are really very comfortable if they are stretch denim as opposed to what guys wear being that 100% cotton which has no give whatsoever;) So don't knock it until you try it my friend. So go to that website and order yourself a nice pair of low rise skinnies that stretch and garranteed you will become a true believer;) Cheers

Hi Mark = Great Pic:( btw ) = 1. question: ( if I may ) = how do you stay so skinny ? I've been battlin' da bulge for years ... I look down over my big ball belly & I can hardly see my .......... HEY ! = I meant shoelaces ... *giggles* *grin* ... have a great day cheers CEM.
He ha,great comment about the shoelaces as I know that's what you meant;) LOL.As for your question I just consider myself fortunate that I've been thin like this my whole life to date so likely its just metabolism.Of course I do work out at the gym so I'm sure that helps as well as my line of work is not a desk job so I'm on my feet all the time.Regardless your hair is epic and much thicker than my mop;)Always wished I had more volume in that respect. LOL.Thanks for your fun reply my friend:)Cheers.
Mârk
Hi Mark - Its good to laugh !!! ... you can tell you work out - gym-toned arms + your lean-ness is rare - portly is more the norm for guys our age ... I do like my BIG bowls of chopped salad - I must admit ... re: hair volume ... I'm not sure how oily your hair is or how often you wash it - but dry shampoo can & does add heaps of volume & actually there is a volumising powder available that you sprinkle & rub & distribute through-out ... maybe worth a try !??! ... thx. for the compliment & here's one for you ... I love your hair - its like a 'Cherokee' Indian's only red ... have a gr8. day cheers bud CEM. :))
Hi CEM,
Well all I can say is I'm just an oddity as far as my body goes as frankly I can't say for certain how I manage to stay so thin. Maybe it's because I avoid eating at McDonalds? Lol.I'm not a calorie counter either but then I don't eat large meals since I'm not much of a foodie!lol.
As for my hair I normally wash it every other day being after day two it starts looking flat and stringy.I wouldn't be against trying new products so maybe what your suggesting might be something to try:) Do you have specific brands that you use? Please let me know and I will look for them. Thanks again for your fun and informative replies my friend:)Cheers

------------------
Hi Mark - ( PART:#1. ) ... its not what I eat, its the volume: ( excuse the pun ) - but in a world of obesity - we are doing our best to be healthy & that is what counts ... the key is to love whom we are so we can love others & therefore be of assistance to others - so we ALL make society better & safer: ( as opposed to the opposite - which is self-loathing which in turn affects society in a negative way - which we ALL see & are acutely aware of ) ( PART:#2. ) ... remembering a very small amount goes a very long way - 1.) DRY SHAMPOO: ( made up of corn or oat starch ) - is a white powder - its purpose is to absorb excess oil - it sprays on white & cloudy - you let it sit for 30. secs - then massage thoroughly for at least 2. mins:( only apply to the scalp - not thru. entire lengths - as it is not necessary there ) - then after you've vigorously massaged your scalp all over = then simply brush your hair as normal, concentrating on the scalp area - your scalp will love you, as it will tingle with all that stimulation & the blood-flow there now - blood-flow being the key to healthy roots & therefore healthy hair ... I use several brands 'Aldi's' has a very large can for very cheap - 'Batiste' & 'Klorane' are other brands too + think of all the water your saving whilst helping the planet too ... ( PART:#3. ) ... VOLUMIZING POWDER: same = a very small amount goes a long way ... sprinkle on scalp massage & distribute thru. the scalp only & hey presto = WELLA !!! ... good luck & have fun my friend & your very, very welcome cheers CEM. :O)
VOLUMIZING POWDER !!! :O)
Hi CEM,
Thanks for that info as I will see if I can find any of that product locally. If not then there is always the online route.Have to admit that's a different way to care for your hair but can't hurt to try:) It'll be an interesting experiment.Cheers my friend.
Mârk
I definitely wouldn't mind having that hair!
Hey Mark,
Awesome! Awesome! Awesome!
Your hair is beautiful! I hope that you are continuing to let it grow.
I really like your new jeans. I was thinking of getting a pair of low rise, tight fitting jeans for myself. The saying is that imitation is the best form of flattery. Where did you order those jeans?
Is the top garment you are wearing in this pic a black tank top tee shirt or a black vest?
Your long haired bro,
Raymond
Hi Raymond,
Thank you for you reply my friend:) As for my hair I'm feeling it has reached terminal length. Even though I know its still growing thanks to the henna mark at my scalp. After a month or so I can clearly see the new, uncolored growth at my scalp which verifies my hair continues to grow but the length stays the same it seems.I haven't trimmed my hair in years either.
My jeans are custom made to my submitted measurements from a company I use online called ...makeyourownjeans.com
Check them out as there are lots of options with the kind of denim, color, pocket style, etc. They are not that expensive when compared to designer brands such as Diesel.Let me know if you decide to order from them:)Have a great day!Cheers
Mârk
Ooops, forgot to answer your last question. The top is a stretchy tank top that apparently is a little short when pared with my jeans;) LOL
