Me at the top of the Aksla panoramic viewpoint, in the city of Ålesund in coastal west Norway, taken sometime in 2006 or so.
This should make you jealous of yourself. It must have been
sometime in the summer. Doesn't it get cold in Norway?
I AM jealous of myself, in the sense that I LOVE this beautiful, raw and majestic country! There's a reason I moved here back in 2005, after all... and the women & nature are definitely in the top 5, hehe :D
As you can tell by my hair, this was taken way back, when I was still growing it out the first time, around summer 2005 or so.
Summers do get cold sometimes, evidenced by the fact that we only had around 14c here today, and it's only mid August (should still be warm!)... though this summer has been absolutely fantastic with sun and warmth, so we ain't complaining! ;)
Nice pic Raul as it gives a good indication of what you can expect with longer hair:)Great view of the city and cool B&W effect:) Cheers my friend.

Thanks for your comment, Mark! :)
It is rather relaxing knowing exactly how my hair behaves when it's longer... no suprises of that sort here :)
Hey Raul,
Are you planning to exceed that length this time around?
Hey Kris!
Yeah, I am definitely thinking of reaching at least double that length this time around, and see if I can naturally get rid of all the curling at the bottom by simple the weight of the hair itself :)
Hi Raul,
This is a wonderful pic of you and your hair! I just love the background and also the black and white effect! I can't wait to see you with long hair again buddy! Please keep it growing and flowing my friend! Have to run to dialysis unfortunately. Have a great day!
Ted
Thanks Ted! Good memories from this trip :)
Here's to hoping your dialysis is going as smoothly as possible today, and that you have a great book with you to keep the thoughts away :)
Stay strong, my friend!
Hi Raul,
I really appreciate the words about dialysis! Believe it or not, I only have about 1.5 hours left. It's going well and I can't wait until it's over! I will stay strong buddy!
Ted
Wow, that is some view. Makes me wish I had some natural topography other than corn & bean fields to look at in my home area!
-Tommy
Well Tommy, to put it this way, in my veeeery unbiased pov (okay, maybe a bit less objective then...), the views of norway, and especially western coastal norway, are hard to beat!
Here's a better picture of the panoramic view from the viewpoint, after having climed those 400+ stairs to the top... it makes one feel really small in comparison to the beauty that's all around us :)
I am sure, btw, that where you're from has it's own magic and charm. Are we talking Nebraska, or am I totally off with my spidey sense? :D
Nope not Nebraska, Indiana! Here are my regular views...
I read through the posts on this threat - and I was wondering - Raul, where did you grow up? Where did you live before moving to Norway? Any specific reasons for choosing Norway? You have proven to me, via your pictures that it is a beautiful country.
Heya Fitz!
It's quite a complicated story, I gotta' tell ya', hehe...
Born in Romania, and raised in Israel (all the school years and 3 years in the Israeli Defense Forces).
Then I had made plans to immigrate to Canada back in 2005 in order to study photography and graphical design, only to meet and fall in love with a norwegian girl, something that led me to this beautiful country :)
So you see, it was all really a matter of fate, and following one's heart.
Don't really know if I would ever immigrate again, but if so, it would have to be an english speaking country, hehe.. tired of learning new languages ;)
I'm always intrigued with languages...So what is your native language? Obviously you know English, but what else do you speak?
-Tommy
Native language is Romanian, though I speak much better Hebrew and English, as well as Norwegian, in comparison.
To put it in a nice, understandable way, 4 languages are more than enough for me! So if there's any more moving around in the future of this gypsy, it's only America, Canada or England ;)
