Well, the thread started by trill the other day got me thinking and wondering, how do all of you guys treat that annoying, pesky neckhair? Do you trim it regularly? Do you mostly go with your hair down and don't care about it?
I have been wanting to shave it off for a long while now, but seeing as I really want it done nicely, I don't dare doing it myself, as one little error with the two mirrors, clippers and shaving blade in hand could be disastrous! :P
Anyways, here's me.. hairy as a werewolf! How about you?
It's weird but the left side of my head grows it similar to yours and my right side grows nothing. I have carefully used a beard trimmer to cut mine but lately have been having my wife do it for me. She patiently listens to my pleas for caution!
I don't like how it looks if I leave it especially because I have my hair braided most of time and it's very noticeable.
If you err on the side of caution and don't trim too near to the hairline back there, you should be able to do it yourself. With time, it becomes easier.
Huh, good question. Have a pretty same problem. Although I do wear my hair loose most of the time, I sometimes think of a neckhair (got lots of it) and how it looks. I decided to leave it by for a while, but I'll definitely read the answers of others :)
Serge.
It might also enhance your tattoos if you trimmed neck hairs.
Shave regularly - it is quite safe with a little experience.
Sine I wear my hair down 90$ of the time I never do anything with the neckhairs. When I do wear it in a pony tail/braid/bun/pig tails the neck hair is there........untrimed.
It's been alot of years since i had the neck hair trimmed, so many years i've lost track of how many.
I also have alot of hair on my back, on my legs, chest, arms. As far as I can tell my neck hairs are now long enough to fit in a pony tail.
The scraggly bits go up about an inch higher on mine. It's not pretty. And if I wear my hair up, it looks a bit like Darth Vader without his helmet.
Lol guess I'm the only other guy bold/weird enough to share Raul! Posting it from my phone again so here's hoping it goes right side up!

Glad to see I am not the only crazy/bold/weird one, Tommy! :D We need to stick together, us weirdoes ;)
Anyways, I see your neckhair (or nape, as I have just recently learned, hehe) looks a lot different than mine, probably because you have actually much thicker and straighter hair texture than me.
Thanks for posting!
Although my hair is mostly white now, my neck hair has never changed color. It is still the black color that all my hair was, from age 5 to 40. About the only time anyone ever sees my neck hair is when I want to show them my original color.
My driver's license still says "BLK" on it for hair color. The next time I get a new license, I should probably have them change that.

This is what my hair color is now.

Very interesting stuff there, Bill!
Definitely something fun to be able to show around, when the rest of your hair is all white! Amazing natural proccess, I would say :)
I believe they call this area the nape. I have a very high nape line compared to most people. I don't look at it very often, but the first few times I looked at it I got scared because it looks like something is seriously wrong with it.
The whole area is very thin, the hairs are different from the hair on the rest of my head. Very short even though I never trim them. They are also curly, even though the rest of my hair is straight. It's a catastrophe really. It looks like some kind of illness-related hair loss to me. But it is just genetic I think.
It doesn't really bother me. I wear my hair down most of the time, so it is hidden. A low ponytail hides it too, more or less. The only time it is visible is when I wear a bun higher up on my head when I need my hair to be protected or out of my way.
If I wore my hair loose more often, I wouldn't bother with it, but as I usually have it tied back it can look very untidy, so I get my other half to run the clippers over it once a month.
