Just dropping by... I don't have much time to spend online this summer, as we've just moved out of our tents and into a 500-square-foot tree house, as we still await the onset of our new home's construction (which we have recently learned will not ensue until next spring, other than some concrete, plumbing, and electrical work). Life's an adventure!
I wanted to thank Vincent, Ken, Tommy D, and Oren for their replies to the story about my son's experience at the playground this summer, which is now quite a ways down the page.
Also, I'd like to congratulate everyone on the OUTSTANDING recent updates! I'm currently hovering in "shaggy" mode and looking forward to the coming winter months, when ever-lengthening hair is a real boon, here in the frozen north.
Take care, my friends!

Thanks for the update, Val!
Good to hear you are enjoying life, even in a rather hectic time!
I can only imagine the feeling when the house will be done and you and your family move in and spend your first night there together! :)
Keep on the great work on the shagginess, eh? And take care!
From tents to a treehouse! Perhaps a bit of Swiss Family Robinson is to be found in your family. That's cool that you view it all as an adventure and don't seem too bummed out about not moving into the house until spring.
Winter's coming my friend! Nature's natural insulation will aid you. :)
Hi Val,
Very nice to hear from you! I must tell you that I am jealous that you are able to live in a treehouse and do the things your family does! Granted, I couldn't handle the cold and such. Like Jason said, it is admirable how you just take it in stride! I do, however, hope you can move into your new house sooner rather than later. I can't begin to imagine living in the frozen North! I would last all of a few hours! Thanks again for the update and please keep the mane growing my friend!

Hi Val,
Thanks for your update and checking in with your old friends here at mlhh:)I wasn't aware you were having a new house built but how cool is that! What a thrill it'll be for you and your family when its completed and you finally move in.In the meantime it sounds as your ready to wait it out through the winter but on the plus side you'll have more hair on your head to keep you warm.Yes it's natures way of protecting ourselves;) Please keep us posted on your progress.Cheers my friend.

Wow Val, sorry to hear that it will be spring before they even start on your new home! Having had a home built before I know the wait can be excruciating, and I only had to wait 5 months total!
Hopefully you and your family have a plan for winter!

Val,
Thanks for the update. Having built a house a couple of years ago, I feel your pain. Hang in there and keep it growing.
