I have colored my hair for years the wrong way.. ( doing the whole thing not just the roots).. is there any way of removing the color and getting back to the natural gray color :(.. then doing it right.
In a word, no. There is only one way to revert to natural color and that is to cut it off and start over. There is no real harm to doing complete coloring as long as you're not bleaching it. The main reason for just touching up the roots is to have more even coloring since each application of color tends to soak in deeper and last progressively longer. Thus newly dyed hair will always be lighter and less lasting than that which has been previously dyed.

Nope!
Mike, You may have to go to a hair salon (a good one) and have it done professionally. My wife has colored her hair for years - and most times buys over the counter stuff - every now and then the color starts to get weird - it builds up and doesn't cover right - so she goes to a professional and she walks out looking like a million bucks.
Just a thought...
I have a appt.. tomorrow at 2 with a good salon.. I will ask what they suggest Thanks all. ;)
