  What happened to the actors that were on a show that was on about a year or so back with the some blond female detective with a short bob and her side-kick, a portly guy with long hair?

  can't recall the name, but it was cancelled.

    I'm pretty sure the show you're thinking of was Alcatraz. It was cancelled after one season. I thought the premise had it's problems, but I, too, liked the chemistry between the lady detective (played by Sarah Jones) and her geeky partner (played by Jorge Garcia). Jorge was best known as Hurley on Lost, but in the last season appeared a few times as the giant on Once Upon A Time. I suspect he'll probably return in that role this season, but you never know. Ms. Jones starred in the series Vegas this last season, but it was cancelled, too. TV actors change jobs a lot.

      And Alcatraz was on the Fox tv network, that is all you need to know. Fox has this habit of cancelling a show if it doens't get huge ratings the first week. Many of these shows need a number of shows to find an audience. Add to that fox doesn't advertise these shows, pre-empts them often, moves them around to various
      time slots, and doesn't know how to sell them viewers. And then they wonder why people aren't watching. Fox is the worst offender on these problems.
