Having only recently had enough hair to ponytail etc. I feel apprehensive about being on the hair product aisle in the story and buying hair ties etc. Weird especially since I generally have my hair tied back. Its clear I have done that before. Anyway sorry for the thought.
I hate shopping for hair stuff. I get embarrassed for some reason. When it comes to shampoo and conditioner, I usually know exactly what I need so I just grab it and get out quickly. Other items such as hair ties sometimes require me to spend more time in the aisle.
I especially hated having to buy claw clips, but I like to keep the soap out of my hair when I shower.
Actually I'm the opposite lol.. I love walking down that aisle and having a bunch of women there.. I feel like ha I can do this to lol..
Now I have to disagree here. I routetinely walk into the hair
care isle and get the hair care products I need. No apprehension, no emabarrassement. After 49 years of longhairedness I'm flaunting the long hair and not hiding it.
The thing to remember too is when they put hair care proudcts
out in the store they want men and women to buy them. They don't care whether it is a man or woman buying it, they just want customers to buy them.
I've also been in these local stores so many times in recent years that all the employees already no full well that I have long hair. And so do many of the customers. So I have absolutely no apprehension or embarrasement. If some customer doesn't like my long hair then they can go jump out the window. My hair is long and it will stay long until the day I die.
Also alot of the customers and employees know me since i'm the one comes in many days throughout the year wearing cut off shorts (even in winter.)
I also wear my hair loose most of the time, only pony tailing it/braiding it/bun it/pig tall it on windy/stormy days.
Hi Doc,
I am never apprehensive about being on the hair care aisles. But I can tell you when my hair gets to my waist length goal, I will feel much better. You should never feel apprehensive because your hair looks fantastic! Please keep it growing my friend!
Ted
I felt a little odd browsing the hair care aisle when I first grew my hair out. I grew up identifying that as a woman's domain. I know better now, but it took a little while to get comfortable going there without my wife with me. It was a stereotype I had to grow out of as my hair grew in.
I would mention though that isle has other stuff besides
hair care stuff. it also has things like razor blades,
toothbrushes, mouthwash, toothpaste, aspirin, etc. Oh and it has shampoo that is still used with short hair.
But the important point to remember is, whether you're male or female, the store wants you to buy stuff. The money is still good whether it is from a male or a female. The store
will gladly accept money from both sexes.
