Here's my 2nd entry in my video blog, regarding some of the difficulties one faces during growing one's hair, as well as some accessories and products I am currently using to hold things tight and under control.
Again, no editing, so some rambling and stuff, but I hope you enjoy it! Feel free to come up with ideas I should discuss next time! :)
Hi Raul,
Thanks for the awesome video my friend! I really enjoy watching these and hope you keep making them! Very good information and well presented! Please keep up the good work!
Ted
Thanks a lot, Ted! :)
It's really not all that natural for an introvert such as myself to expose himself to such a degree on youtube, but I feel really good about the comments and reactions of people so far to this vlog, and will definitely continue doing it :)
Soon at the 1 year mark, brother... who would have thought? :D
Hey Raul
Wow, you make the most fabulous videos and this is just what guys need to hear the most that desire to grow long hair. Your own long hair is looking fabulous already despite the Awkward Stage. Great inspiration for one and all.
All the best and wishing you a great day today! :-)
Justin~
Thanks for the great comments, support, positive energy and the endless motivation, Justin!
You are one special dude, and a great friend and mentor to have!
As I said in the youtube comments, if anyone might draw the tiniest amount of motivation from my videos and my journey, then it was worth it all :)
Wishing you a great day, there in the states as well!
Hey man, thanks for another great video! Was good way to spend my lunch time here at work!
Just wondering where you find those skinny headbands? I've been thinking of getting a few to try, but at the store all I see are the big girly ones that are pink, flowering and enormous! I assume those are the same skinny headbands you see soccer players wearing all the time?
Also I definitely planning to try out the beanie when it gets colder! Its in the mid to upper 80's and super humid right now so I'll have to wait a few more months for fall and winter to come around!
-Tommy
Hey bro!
Yeah, it's definitely the same ones soccer players are using, I know Beckham has been using it for at least a decade, if not longer.
I get mine from a womens' accessories chain here in Norway, called Glitter. It's not the most masculine store, but they've got them in all colors, shapes and sizes, and these dark ones are closet to my hair color.
If you reallt can't find them anywhere in the states, I will spare you the embarassment of walking around with them huge-ass pink hello kitty ones, and send you a couple, Tommy :)
Let me know!
Hi Raul,
Nice video and certainly great for the newbies to longhair:)Me being the veteran that I am don't even remember the awkward stages of growing long hair.My hair has survived the test of time as no one has ever succeeded in shaming me to cut it short;)Hopefully you will make it back to your former glory but as you rightfully stated it takes years to grow your hair long and minutes to cut it off.Something to think about for all you newbies.Anyway thanks for the video but maybe next time try not leaving the "set" so much for your props! LOL.Cheers
Mârk
Hey Mark!
Thanks. man!
I know I moved in and out of frame too much. Funny thing is I don't really have a concrete plan for these beforehand.
I just sit down and start rambling, and go with the flow, as it would :)
Well, Raul - your hair looks great, curling up under than Yankees cap - and since I am in a New York state of mind, I have to say I was surprised and pleased to see you put that cap on in your video... You look good in the beany, too. But, I am beginning to think you look good in just about anything.
Thanks Fitz!
The ballcap couldn't have been anything else, seeing as I've always been a huge Fred Durst and Limp Bizkit fan, so I've got plently og red/black NY Yankees caps around the house! :)
May be a little of my "homerism" showing but might I suggest upgrading the sport (Of course I can say that given my home state has no baseball team) and more importantly upgrading the team ;)
Here is the picture link I thought I included

No idea which team that would be, as I have to come right out and admit I have not the slightest clue in most American sports, and especially not the MLB.
I did use to follow the NBA in my teens, though nowdays, it´s only MMA 100% of the time! ;)
Hi Raul,
That is a cap from the NFL Football team Indianapolis Colts from Indiana. They are a very good team. But I live in Texas so it's the Dallas Cowboys for me. MMA is pretty badass though. Those guys get down and dirty!
Ted
Thanks for the explanation, Ted!
There you went ahead and exposed my lack of knowlege i american sports, confusing an NFL team for a MLB one ;)
Funny thing about your Cowboys, in an MMA regard, is that Cowboy stadium, besides the garden, of course, is the holy grail in our sports venues choices, and when the day comes and the sport is big enough to actually fill up the Cowboy stadium, we will know we have truly arrived :)
Either way, even for us European, the Cowboys are a name one has heard time and time again. Heck, my first meet with the brand was back when I was like 3-4 and used to watch Dallas with my grandmother, hehe.
Hi Raul,
Yes, the MMA is relatively new compared to the NFL. I'm sure it won't be too long before MMA has the same status as the other professional sports. I think that's cool how you and your Grandmother would watch the Cowboys. A lot of people in the U.S. consider the Cowboys to be America's team.
Ted
Haha Ted beat me to it, but yes this is my hometown american football team, the Colts! Been a die-hard fan since 8 years old :)

Hey Raul,
It's really fun to hear a voice attached to you, instead of only typed words and pics! Your command of the English language is really quite excellent, and the info shared in your video I believe is so spot-on helpful to anyone going through the awkward stages... Great job!!!!
One of these days I should do a YouTube video myself; but then again, as an old geezer now I'm not even remotely photogenic to watch as you are -- but hey, longhaired geezers might need some encouragement to grow, too; so you never know (LOL)!
"Onward & Downward!"

Thanks, Ken!
I am sure that both me and anyone else would LOVE to put a voice on YOUR pictures and words, and be inspired by your great hair-journey! Geezers or noT! :D
Ken in SF,
I fully agree with you regarding seeing and hearing Raul. I
think he does an excellent job considering English is not his
native language.
And by the way I just love your "old Geezer" comments.
