I grew my hair out 6 years ago..2 years w/o a trim. I started again in may 2012. I don't remember if my hair was falling out 6 years ago? But now when I wash or brush it, I get a lot of hair in the brush and bathroom sink and in the shower. I'm now using a falling out shampoo. Is this normal? I know we loose 100 hairs a day and my hair being longer I will notice it more. Should I be worried that I'm loosing my hair?!! God NO!
I never gave a crap with people saying get a hair cut! I'm 40 years old and don't give a ship! I have thick hair and a lot of it. I will upload pic soon. Any help would be great! Thank you....never let someone tell your mind what to do. It's your life!
Let it grow!!
Sounds like your hair is longer than mine, but I have definitely noticed my hair coming out more. It's most noticeable when I put the conditioner in my hair in the shower, after getting it spread all around I have what seems like of fallen out hair stuck on my hands. That being said I just use a wide tooth comb and it doesn't pull any hair out that I can see.

Hi Tommy,
We notice the shed hairs more because they're longer. Short haired people don't notice them much.

Yes, I agree: never a good idea to listen to people who tell you what to do about your OWN hair on your OWN head... If they can't support you in what you wish to do about that, then they really are NOT a true friend!
Re. your hair falling out, sharing a photo is the best way to get good feedback about that issue.
One recommendation I have re. brushing, however: I was told a long time ago NEVER to use a brush on long hair when the hair is still wet -- only a wide-toothed comb is best for wet hair; using a brush works well on dry hair only. This suggestion was given to me by a long-haired woman I knew way back when I only had "medium-length" hair during the late 1970s; but she knew I wanted to eventually grow mine longer, so she shared a lot of info about long hair w/ me (her hair was hip-length and drop-dead GORGEOUS).
I hope my comments have helped!

One thing you could do is look at the side effects of your
medications. Some of them may have a side effect of hair loss..
I would strongly suggest checking with your doctor. Especially check with your doctor if one of the meds has that side effect.
But talk to your doctor before stopping any meds.
