Sorry I've been absent. I'm loving my ponytail lately, so thought I'd post a pic. I'm at about 15 months of growth.
Hi Tony,
This is good stuff! Your tail is looking splendid as are you! You are definitely making excellent progress my friend! I still wish my hair was as straight as yours is:) Please keep it growing and don't hesitate to check in more often!
Ted
It's amazing how much longer your hair looks just from your avatar picture!
Tony,
Your pictures are some of the first I remember seeing when I started on this forum a few months ago and every time you post a picture, I am amazed by the length you are obtaining and the beauty of your hair. You are going to knock em dead with your hair... you already are! I am at 9 months now and cannot imagine that in less than 9 more months I could have that length myself... It really is hard to believe at the point I am at today to see my hair looking that long in just 6 more months. Thanks for sharing your outstanding pony picture with us today.
Gary
I can't wait to pull back my hair and get it off my ears. I have 9 months in from a buzz and have grown 4.5 inches so hopefully ill have similar results when reach 15 months. The look fits you well!
Thanks guys. Fitz I remember looking at pics on here way back when and thinking I'd never reach _________ stage. It's. Just an exciting journey this hair growing!! Don't worry, Ted I've decided not to stop until at least January. Thanks for the inspiration.
Tony
Lookin' good ! That is an impressive tail for 1 months.
Thanks for Sharing

Hey, Tony! It's a good looking tail you've got there. Can I wonder how are you wearing it - with parting or without one? I found that it's pretty hard for me to make a ponytail without a part. To slick my hair back I have to comb it pretty hard and maybe even use some additional products.
Thanks.
Serge.
Serge,
I usually am able to pull my hair back with out it parting. I like it better without the part. Some days it does, though. Not sure why. Honestly, I've not had a comb or brush in my hair since I started growing it. I only finger comb it. I've also not had any products in it since I hit shoulder length. The only thing I use is johoba oil.
I think you're due for a update pic! I'd like to see where you are!
Tony
I think your hair is looking great, as well as the pony tail.
I am still not thinkin on ponytailing because I like my hair loose. But warm days are coming soon in this part of the world and I think I will have to ponytail soon or late or Im gonna die haha
We've had a lot of very warm days here and even when it is very hot I still wear my hair loose. The only times I pony tail it/
braid it/pig tail it/bun it is when it stormy and very windy.
Other than that my long hair stays long and loose on very hot days.
Also on very hot days i'm wearing my usual cut off shorts, no shirt, and my long hair loose and cascading down my back.
I dont feel very comfortable ponytailing my hair. I only do that when I go to sleep to avoid tangles. Not sure why but I still dont feel comfortable going out to the street with a ponytail.
No matter how I wear my hair i'm entirely comfortable going out
whether the hair is hanging down and loose, in a pony tail,
in a braid, in pig tails, or in a bun. I'm now 59 years old
and I long ago got to the point where I don't care what others
think. It's my hair and i'll wear it the way I want to. If someone doesn't like it then it's tough potatoes. They can
go jump out the window. I'll continue to wear my hair the way I want. When I was in my teens I was concerned about what other
people thought. Now at the ripe old age of 59 I don't care what they think. I'll wear my hair the way i want and wear the clothes I want.
Life is far too short to worry about what other people think.
And it doesn't matter what they think, you'll never be able to
completely satisfy them anyways.
Very well said!
Darrin
Thank you.
Albany,
I think you emphasize something very important. Age does bring about a higher level of comfort with oneself. I'm 44 and find that I worry much less about what people think of my hair and how I wear it than I did in my 20's and 30's. The way I wear my hair is determined mostly by weather. With our humidity here I've worn it in a tail most of the summer. I can't stand to have hair stuck to my neck (I sweat profusely). Now that we're having some more fall-like weather, I've worn it down several days. It's very nice. I anticipate fewer ponytail days as fall and winter get here.
Tony
We've just been through a very hot summer (and a very humid summer). I would say of the last six months (many of them
hot and humid) i've worn my hair down and loose most of those
days. I find i'm less hot with my hair loose than with it
in a pony tail. The hair acts as a natural air conditioner.
Besides on really hot days I find it most comfortable to going
around with cut off shorts, no shirt, and my long hair cascading
down my back. Having the hair in a pony tail makes it hotter
(the hair provides shade.)
Over a number of summers i've experimented with the hair
being loose in the hot summer compared to the hair
being in a pony tail, braided, bunned, in pig tails and
have found overwhelmingly that having the hair loose is
actually cooler. The hair provides warmth in the winter
and coolness in the summer.
So this is one long hair who flatly refuses to cut his
hair in the summer. It doesn't help in the heat.
