Hey guys, in about two weeks i'll be at my 7 month update. I can assure you that growing out my hair from a number 1 buzzcut wasn't easy at all but i'm glad i stuck around. I'm finally not all that self conscious about my hair anymore. A LOT of people have come up to me and told me to get a haircut since i've been growing it out. Sure, there's been times when i've thought of getting it all cut but i can say with certainty that it isn't gonna happen! What do you guys think of it's current state?
It's growing out well and will look good. Just hang on in and ignore the naysayers and any doubts you may get when it goes through the awkward stage.

It looks like you're off to a great start! It looks like you may have some nice waves when it gets longer. At 7 months you're probably about to enter the awkward stage where you're likely to have more bad hair days than good. If you don't get discouraged, I think you'll come out of it with some great looking hair.

I can see why you are happy with your progress! Your hair is looking really great and I sure am happy you didn't cut it! As long as people are telling you to get a haircut you can be assured you're making good progress! Please don't let people make you get it cut! I believe your hair will look so awesome when it gets even longer my friend! Please keep it growing and flowing!

As the others have said, I think you have GREAT potential for lovely long hair there, a real manly mane to be proud of... just stick it out through the awkward stage, and even try to take a Justin approach to it and enjoy the fact that you get a different look every single day of the week! :D

First of all I wanted to congratulate you for keeping on doing what you want, which is growing your hair out. Your hair already looks awesome and will look even better once it grows out.
All of us have gone through a stage where our hair looked messy, not neat, and you have to be ready for that but after that stage goes away, your hair is gonna look flawless again.
When people tell you that you need a haircut, you should probably tell them that indeed, you're growing it out.
People are not used to see you with long hair, so thats why they suggest you to cut it . Once your hair gets longer, they will get used to that and they will stop suggesting hair cuts.
I have been there. People used to tell me "Wow, your hair is too long" (like saying, its time for a haircut) and I was like "Thank you!" .
Now I am considered a long haired and instead of receiving hair-cut suggestions, people compliment my hair. That happens to me at work, uni, when I go nightclubbing, etc.
Please try to enter this board and read our tips and experiences since they will provide you with so much support . There are also tons of YouTube videos from guys documenting their hair journey experience, so you can learn different things and will help you to keep going.
Hey Dave, although most people tell me to get a haircut, some are actually encouraging me not to. I check out videos of guys with hair updates on youtube quite often, it definitely gives me hope. I think your hair is awesome! Thanks for taking the time to help me out.

OMG, do you realize how insulting this is for people to do to you? Two things to do:
1. Ignor comments and give no response.
2. Answer: "I will just as soon as you learn to keep your mouth shut!" (Of course, no worries for you because people like this can NEVER keep their mouths shut.)

You should be angry. You are being attacked! These crumbs are not worth a moments time nor even a split second thought. Funny how it works out in the end most of the time for guys. Once you have really long hair, these ignorant insulting people give-up and find someone else to assult. Glad you won't give-in to these verbal abusive monsters. Take care man and grow that hair out and enjoy every minute of it while they wallow in their own self-made miserable lifes.

Hey man, the current state is looking good I'd say! Unfortunately as many others have said, the worst is yet to come...but stay strong and you'll get through it! I think your correct, it end result will definitely be worth the wait!
