I just seen a news ad on my aol screen that today is bald day and the news page had male bald celebrities and even females on it which I was surprised. I am upset because they celebrate bald people but what about long haired men. If they can make a dedication page on the bald women they can do it for long haired men. I was more upset from the negative comments on it saying long hair on guys is horrible due to normal hair loss a day, bad hair days, greasy hair, splitting ends, greying and clogging bathtub and bald is better. It's terrible to take it out on long hair guys due to their hair loss, insecurity or laziness not taking care of it which is sad or to other reasons that are ridiculous. I do know you go bald due to illness, genetics and even bald by choice but they shouldn't bring long hair men into it. But the shocking part is they had females in the news page and when its long hair guys its mostly about getting makeovers.
I have probably said this before but I will say it again.
I HATE when women are asked about long hair on men and they say : "As long as its kept clean, I think its acceptable".
"AS LONG AS ITS KEPT CLEAN?" . Who the phuck do you think you are? Just because we are men does not mean we are dirt and do not take care of our hair.
Besides, I have seen a lot of women with long hair but in really bad condition. They might keep it clean, but they don't keep it healthy. Keeping you hair CLEAN does not mean its HEALTHY .
Precisimundo. I've seen FAR more women who don't know how to take care of themselves than men. Men usually start out knowing nothing about hair and have to learn from scratch. Most women have centuries of lies and bad advice to guide them, so they think they're more knowledgeable about it by dint of being female.
I'm glad you mentioned that.
I've noticed that 98% of women have hair that is shorter than
mine. But of those 2% who do have hair longer than me they
many of them tend to have hair that is in bad shape. I've noticed that men tend to keep their hair in better condition.
I think the reason a lot of women have hair in bad shape is because they always want to do things to it. They flatiron it, chemically starighten ti, perm it etc. Men just usually let their hair grow natural the way it should be done. People should learn to embrace and accept their hair whether it is straight wavy curly etc. Heck I sometimes wish I had straight hair-but it ain't gonna happen in this lifetime. So I just watch it grow and be happy it is growing.

I would add that women go through all those processes without even taking the minimal precautions to avoid/reduce hair damage. Take a look at models: they constantly go through perms, straightening, flat irons, dyes. But they have the best professionals and the best products to keep their hair healthy. Some women do not even use heat protectant when flatironing or blowdrying their hair. I dont know how they can tell men we cant wear iur hair long.if.they cannot ven take care of.their own hair!!
No woman will tell me how to wear my hair I can assure you! My hair, my rules, period! My Mother-in-law was giving me crap about it for a while. Now she sees that I am serious and not listening to her opinions. I have won the battle!

I've heard that as far back as the 70's. But being a guy means we are expected to be stinky and dirty. Hell yeah.
I've found that men with long hair actually know more about hair care than the typical female. Weird huh? Ask any girl about terminal length. She don't know what the hell you're talking about.
But I don't get offended by this remark. It's acceptance in a form and that's good enough for me. A lot of girls like it and sometimes that's all it takes to get laid. As long as it's clean.
I don't care if they have amputee day. I'm happy having arms and legs.
Bill
OMG, Bill, that's just too funny!!
And on that note...
I don't care if they ever have psychopath day -- I'm just grateful I've never had to spend a night in the slammer, nor ever been carted away by the men wearing white coats!
(Although I suppose there are some who reside on planet Earth who have wished for me to receive either - LOL)
For me cutting my hair would akin to amputating an arm or leg.
I would not choose either.
You mean there are actually people who still use AOL?
Who knew AOL was actually still around.
At the age of 59 after 49 years with long hair every day is long hair day for me. After 49 years my hair will remain long until the day I die (Grey hair and all.)
Screw them.
And of course since this was on AOL i'll continue to wear my hair long for the rest of my life.
