Hi everyone,
I am wondering if anybody noticed a difference in their hair texture after growing. I mean did your hair go from curly/wavy to more straight or the other way around? I am mainly talking about people with longer than shoulder length hair. I would appreciate any info about this. Thanks in advance!
Ted
I thought my hair was dead straight before I started to let it grow long. By the time it got to shoulder length I realised it was actually wavy. Now it's quite a bit longer than shoulder length but it hasn't changed; it still the same waviness (though of course the extra weight means it doesn't stick out as much as it did during the 'awkward stage').

Hi Damon,
Thanks for your reply! That is very interesting to know! I'm sure the extra weight makes your hair less wavy also. I know my hair isn't straight, but am so curious to see what I end up with. I still haven't totally passed shoulder length yet. Not much weight to pull the hair down from the damn "triangle"! One of these days...
Ted
Ted, my hair was quite straight when short but now very wavy except three-four days after a washing when it becomes weighted down by oiliness. Waiting to see how it will come out looking is part of the adventure of going long! All the best and a great weekend...
Don
Hi Don,
Thanks for your reply! That is very interesting that your hair has become wavier with length. I suspect with even more length you will probably lose some of that wave as it falls down. Especially when your shoulders are not bunching it up like mine is doing at the moment. This drives me crazy! I know what you mean about the oiliness. This is why I keep washing mine daily.
And a great weekend to you also my friend! Please keep it growing!
Ted
Haha! You know the drill, Ted. Just be patient and don't shampoo your hair too often. Stripped of its natural oil, hair tends to look like a fine frizz with no body and sticks out in all sorts of unattractive directions.
Hang in there, dude. It'll all be alright on the night (i.e. in a few months time).
Damon
Hi Damon,
Yes, I know the routine! But I don't want to wait man! I need to work on stretching my washes. Probably would help. I do know once I get to mid-back length it should be a lot better. Thanks for the positive push bud!
Ted
Mine didn't exactly change from growing, but in the past year or two it has gotten a bit more wavy. This could be because I was dying it black once every two or three months though. Right now I'm letting it go back to my natural color, so we'll see!

Hi Jarvis,
Thanks a bunch for the reply! I must say that I have always liked your stick straight hair man! That is interesting about the dye maybe causing the waviness. What length are you at these days? I am hoping my hair straigthens out some with more length.
