I feel upset and depressed due to megative hurtful of others and need advice
Hey Ryan, I am sorry you have gotten some negative comments, but I can assure you most of us have gotten them throughout the years.
Might I ask for more details?
.
Thanks bud! As I told Jason, I needed one which shows my current length so that when I get to have some sort of proggress here, it will actually show ;)
I feel upset and depressed due to negative hurtful feedback of others and need advice
Hi Ryan,
Thanks for the revision; but also as Raul recommended, might you be able to give us a few more details?
For example: are the negative comments coming from total strangers, or people you know? Are they friends, or family members, who are giving you a hard time? Are you young, and still living at home with your parents -- or living out on your own, owning or renting your own house or apartment, have a job and pay your own way in life?
Understanding more about the specifics can make a big difference in how we can help you.... There's nothing worse than a person giving bad advise in situations where not much information was known in the first place!
Thanks in advance for your reply!

IMHO he doesn't have to give details. AFter 49 years of having long hair starting in 1964 I can probbly guess with 99%
accuracy who is complaining and why. Most likely it's
so called friends/teachers/school administrators/employers/
parents/relatives.
it is is what it is and for me the best way to handle it is
to use it as an incentive to keep my long hair long and to keep
growing it longer.
I started growing my hair long in 1964, my parents were divorced and mom was alright with me growing my hair long. But I had all the other hassles.
I probably can't help you much. I generally don't give a f**k what other people think of my hair. If they are so shallow and conformist that my long hair bothers them, I just feel sorry for them and thank God I'm not living their sad lives.
But like others have said, you need to give more details (where, who, etc.).

Every time I got negative comments about my hair I considered it an incentive to keep my hair long and let it grow longer.
When you get negative comments, don't fee ashamed upset or depressed. Every time I got negative comments I thrived on it,
I took as an incentive to not only keep my hair long but to keep it growing longer.
I started growing my hair long in 1964. It's now 2013,
and my hair is still long. When I turned 45 the negative comments stopped.
Throughout the years I trived on the negative comments
and took at as an incenvtive to keep my hair long and let it
grow longer.
Ignore the naysayers. They're just jealous.
Hi Ryan,
I can't really add much to the great advice you have already been given. Please don't let people discourage you from growing YOUR hair. If you shaved your head bald they would probably tell you to grow your hair. If you show these idiots that they're getting to you, they are winning.
Believe me, if you keep visiting this wonderful forum and keep growing your hair, you will be rewarded. You have to be serious about wanting long hair. I am pretty sure if you were to get your hair to at least mid-back length, the negative comments would be fewer. These idiots may not realize how serious you are because your hair isn't long yet. Who knows? But I certainly wouldn't waste time worrying about it! Life is much too short to let stupid people dictate what you do!
With that said, onward and downward my friend! I look forward to your future updates with that flowing hair you so desire! Great week to you!

I discovered long ago that if I cut my hair then people would find
other stuff to complain about. Things like i'm too short, by nose is too big, I need to loose weight, etc.
So I chose to keep my hair long no matter what they say.
No offense to you but your question sounds kind of ridiculous to me:
That is like asking " Should I feel ashamed about having blue eyes? Should I feel ashamed about being white? Should I feel ashamed about being thin?"
Come on dude! Hair is just hair. Its another characteristic of someone's body.
People can:
have long hair or short.
have Blue eyes, green or brown.
be tall or short
be skinny, thin or fat
be white or black
be american or european
Its just another characteristic and you should not feel ashamed in any way because that is who and how you are. If they dont like it, then tell them not to look at you. That is simple.
Hi Ryan,
I totally agree with the others. One should never feel ashamed in doing what YOU want to do, and I hope that you simply ignore those hurtful comments from others. By all means, keep it growing!
