Hi all!
just wanna show the result of my hair after it's being washed and ironed because i asked all of you on how can i get my hair curving inward a few days ago. when the salon lady said that to get the curving effect, the hair need to be ironed. i was hesitated as i've never put straightening iron on my hair before as i was afraid my hair will looked flat. but the result amazed me. i liked how it turned out even though it was more feminine-looking. what do you guys think?
comment please. thank you :)
Hi ahseng,
I think your hair looks great here! But I think you should just save your money and let your hair grow. You have wonderful straight hair. It will curl or flip at the ends sometimes. I think you should let it grow longer (past shoulders) and see what it does. You may be surprised at what happens. Looks great though! And please don't use the iron or other heat devices on your hair!
Ted
Hi Ted!
thanks for your kind words :D yes, i also don't really like to often put heat on my hair because i know heat is the hair no. 1 enemy. that's why i don't buy any heat hair appliances like blow dry and straightening and curling iron. just wanna have a little fun with my growing hair, so that's why i did this :D
thanks again!
Hi ahseng,
I'm pretty sure that your hair will stay very straight as it grows. If you only let it stay shoulder length, it will probably look curled at the ends. This is because it will be sitting on your shoulders and not hanging free. My hair is not as straight as yours. But I am seeing it bunch up at my shoulders because of the short length. Also, I have layers to grow out. Layers make hair flip out everywhere.
Keep having fun with your hair! I do hope you let your hair grow past your shoulders! You should do that just to see how it looks. I know you would like it!
Ted
It looks great. Keep it growing!
Hi Mixolydian!
thank you very much! yes, i'm now currently targeting of not cutting my hair until at least to the end of this year. we'll see how my hair goes after that. i'll maybe just settle for shoulder length though after that. :D
I think the result came out great but I agree with Ted that you should avoid using
the straightening irons. I suppose once in a while is fine but you can risk damaging your hair.Once you get a little more length gravity will be your friend;) Cheers

Hi Mârk
thanks for your words! yup, i planned on using heat on my hair once in a while just to have a little fun with my hair. i don't want to use heat often as i know that heat can lead to breakage on hair. i can't wait till i can get more weights in my hair :D
Hey ahseng,
Your hair looks great. I didn't think that it looked feminine. Just let it grow out longer because the longer it gets the heavier it gets. The weight of your hair will hold it down. It will look awesome!
Your long haired bro,
Raymond
Hi Raymond!
the irony thing is, i liked having my hair in feminine-style. lol :D i can't wait till i can get my hair longer, thicker and fuller to have more weight at the bottom and see how it'll go.
thanks :D
Looks great! You have great hair that is going to hang very well as it gets a bit longer!
Hi Abseng,
First of all, I do NOT think your hair looks "feminine!" It is just very good-looking long hair, that's all; but if that's what some folks will view as looking feminine, then they'll just have to get used to the idea of a man having just as awesome a head of hair as a woman.
As far as ironing your hair goes, I agree with Ted and the others that it's best to do this minimally, if at all -- heat devices can damage hair if over-used or used accidentally in the wrong way (but you probably already know this)...

No your hair does not look feminine. There are those on this
planet who will consider your hair to be feminine if it is any longer than a buzzcut.
Just proudly go forward and let your hair grow and ignore the
naysayers.
As far as ironing it, don't. You'll regret the damage later on.
Hey ahseng!
While I like the look, I did think your natual hair looked fantastic, and I wouldn't really do anything else to it but let it grow, grow, grow! :)
Then again, it's your hair and what's most important is what YOU Feel and how you like to wear it, so keep having fun with it, and walk around with pride, owning your long mane :)
I don't think it looked feminine on your last update, nor on this one. I think its looks pretty neat all tidy and combed like that. I'm sure you can make to the end of the year without any trims, then you can set yourself a new goal :)

It doesn't look feminine to me, in the sense that I would never mistake you for a girl. Other than that I'm not sure what "feminine" hair would look like at that length.
Looks good,
Chris
