I finally got around to shooting some new photos for fall 2013. Except for minor trim every spring and fall, it's been going uncut since late summer 2010. I have a feeling that my terminal length is fairly short or else my very fine hair just doesn't stand up well to damage as lately I seem to be gaining length very slowly if at all. I'm not complaining, at least I have hair!
Hopefully the photo upload works. There's more from the same shoot on my Flickr page linked at the bottom of this message.

Hi Dale,
Very nice pic of you and your hair! I surely hope you have much more length to go! I don't see a link at the bottom of the page though. Please let us know! I want more!
Ted
Great pic! Good choice of location....
Nice hair!
I know what you mean about gaining length slowly... but you are growing faster than me and I am glad for your success!
Onward and Downward!
I like it, Dale!
I never got really long terminal length either, but what I got was "enough". If people call me a longhair or a hippie, that's enough. If I rankle the hair police, hey, that's enough. If I get hair in my mouth while eating that's still attached to my head, that's enough. To me, long hair can look great at a wide variety of long lengths, and yours looks great!
I didn't see the link, but I clicked on your avatar, and the page there had several photos from the same shoot. All good.
Bill
Hey Dale!
Awesome picture, and I can definitely see you've gained some length there, in comparison to the last picture of your hair I've seen!
Awesome scenery as well! Great job with the picture all around!
I wouldn't complain either. What you have right now is truly "exceptional" long hair. Bravo!
Justin~
Hi Dale,
What other can I say but a fabulous picture of you showing off your mane:)I'm sorta in the same boat when it comes to terminal length being I know my hair is still growing which is evident between my henna treatments.Obviously at my scalp I see the new, uncolored growth but me length appear to stay the same and I never get trims.Still I'm not complaining as I have a full head of hair and I can enjoy it cascading down my back:) I love the color of your hair and texture. You have a lot to be proud of my friend.Cheers
Mârk
Thanks for the comments! For some reason the clickable link for the additional photos didn't work so I'll try attaching it again but here's the URL in case it still doesn't work: http://www.flickr.com/photos/kansasdude

Hi Dale,
Thanks so much for that link! It made my dialysis session today so much better! You are looking splendid my friend! Really enjoyed looking through the pictures! Holy sh*t, there's a lot of pics man! May your hair grow much longer!
Ted
Great shot of the hair and beard. The fall leaves just really set it all off! Thanks for sharing.
Very handsome man you are, Dale. Great hair and great fall picture...
Great photos, Dale, your hair looks excellent, and I also always love outdoor pics that include some aspect of either the season, the region where you live, or some other element that tells us more about yourself -- and those pics had it all!!
It was also fun seeing your Facebook page (after I clicked on your avatar). I don't belong to Facebook myself -- I'm holding out to the bitter end; but hey, at least it gives me an idea of what it's like, should I ever reconsider joining...
Long Lox 4ever,

So you're the lone person on the planet that is not on facebook?
I generally hate facebook, but it is good for communicating with
friends.
There are also a number of deaths that i've heard about through
facebook. Obituaries are useless, unless you're one of those who
looks through the obituaries every day. I don't. So there have been people who have died and I learned about it months (years) later.
Nope, not Ken. No way. I'm not on Face Book either and have my hands so full as it is keeping up with all of the You Tube messages, composing music and a bunch of "fix-it-up" projects. Not really all that happy with the new Google-You Tube and I may just give the whole thing up yet and simply post videos I make to my own Website. Try as they do, You Tube is unable to have me sign-up for their make money off of videos racket. In my case, I do not want advertisements popping up in anything I put on for other people to watch/listen to. It is merely a fun hobby and I would not ever want to waste anyones time having to click-out of an advertisment. You Tube is really no longer the fun place it used to be when we actually did make some friends. Now it is if nobody knows who anyone is anymore and the early-on "fun" of YT and the personal touch has been lost. Yikes, quite enough about that. Oh, one last thing about a posting you made below about the Cival War group and one of the members. My fault and I misread. So you didn't actually go to the wake afterall. Needless to say, attend this wake or not, I am still very sorry to hear of this loss. Speaking of the Cival War, I posted this colorized photo I did a while back here on the MLHH. Here it is again in case you never saw it. Portraits are not all that difficult for me anymore, but something like this? Well, there is alot to it and it would be impossible for me to explain how I do it as every single vintage photo I do always has a different twist.
Justin~
And here I thought every video on you tube had ads. Every time I click on a you tube video an ad runs with the option to stop the ad after a period of time.
I recognize that google needs to make money to survive but I still absolutely hate ads. I know they're critical to keep
Google/facebook/twitter going but I still hate ads.
* I think(?) this is probably because a great majority of people that upload a video must see a $$$ opportunity and so they go for it. Meanwhile, whatever they have just uploaded is held-up starting by some advt. or has some kind of Pop-Up even if for 12 views! I decline any and all offers.
*Well, making a fair to large amount is one thing. A "Landslide-killing" of greed is quite another. Most likely they are raking-in so much I wouldn't even be able to count that high. They "say" they are critical, but sometimes I almost have to wonder when it comes to the "Little Guy."
OK, let's just see what happens (not to myself) if anyone watches a picked at random video I uploaded in 2011 of the Great Composers that have been colorized. And, I better not hear that there was an advt. or I will be steamed.
Justin~
ps: It is always most interesting to see photos in this time period and see the different Hair or Beard lengths.
No ad in this video. (Notice how some of these guys have long
hair? Like the guy towards the beginning with the shoulder length
white hair. Some of the other guys also have long hair (read: not buzz cuts or crew cuts.)
I've never posted a video on YouTube so I have no clue how the ads work.
Good! :-)
That guy in the beginning is none other than the Hungarian composer/pianist "Franz Liszt" photographed in the 1870's with one of his students.
As soon as someone clicks on " Sign-up and start making money on your videos," I guess this is when all of the ads take over and will show up. As far as what product(s) someone gets, I have no idea, and I am hardly going to go in that direction.
Actually I went to the wake, but did not go to the reunion.
When you did this photo did you do it from a glass original?
If you did those glass originals are very rare.
I did see it the first time.
*Oh, well then I guess I didn't really read it wrong afterall. Thank you so much for clearing this up. As I said below, I am sure that your presence at the wake was very much appreciated.
No, not the original nor of the one above using the Glass Plate method. (Think they call those "Ambrotypes," something like that.) The image on glass is actually a negative until placed upon a dark surface which in those days was Black Paper, Velvet, or simply that back of the photo was painted black. Then all was inserted into a fancy holder where it could be displayed. This photo is the very lastever taken of President Lincoln in 1865.
Well, let's just hope that this image is a first. My brains fell out 25 years ago. About all I can remember is that I don't remember! LOL :-)
Justin~
You are correct, this is/was the last picture of Lincoln. You
do bring these pictures to life! The other one, which I remember
from before, has Allen Pinkerton, Lincoln and John McClernand
and I believe was taken after the battle of Antietam.
Hi and thank you for filling me in on the other two men in this photo. Trying to colorize more than a single portrait takes a whole lot of time. The one above is of my Grandfather and was taken in 1910. He only lived until the age of 39 and so I never knew him. This was an especially difficult phot0 to colorize. The original photo was badly faded and waterstained. I did the best I could at the time. Now I might(?) be able to do somewhat better.
Justin~
Looks like you've done pretty good because I have seen old photos
that have suffered from exposure and there's not a lot to work
with.
Looking fantastic, Dale. There's such an obvious difference from your avatar photo. I hear you on fine hair. It definitely takes a lot more work.
Great look Dale!
peace,
jonalbear
Hi Dale,
Your hair really does look good here, and this is an excellent photo, in such a beautiful setting. Your hair is definitely getting there, so don't be discouraged if the growth rate is not as fast as you would like.
Keep it growing,
David
Really nice picture and setting. I have a question: I notice that your hair in front sweeps across your forehead. Mine does too, and it's getting long enough that I can see it in front of my right eye. Do you have any issues with it covering your eye(s)?
Thanks,
Chris
To answer your question, no it's rarely a problem. Most of the time I'll have it tucked behind my ears or tied back, about the only time it hangs in my face is when I want it to hang in my face. :-) Also I have very fine hair which is relatively easy to see through compared to those with thicker hair. :P

Hi Dale, sorry to hear you've possibly hit a terminal roadblock, but I can also say that your hair looks quite nice at that length!
