Hi Justin,
Can you pretty please post just one pic of your lovely hair when it was the longest? I need some inspiration over here! I would appreciate it greatly my friend! Great day to you!
Ted
Hi Ted,
Here's the story of what happened to Justin when he posted about it. He included photos.
Jason
Beware of Salons
Hello Jason,
Thank you so much for posting that! I do remember seeing that before now. What an unfortunate thing to have happen! I guess that's why it slipped from my memory. I can guarantee you I will not let just anyone mess with my hair! I am so glad that Justin is doing well now and still gracing us with his presence here! And boy can I tell you! I am so inspired by that pic of his beautiful long thick hair! Thanks Justin! And Jason, I still am loving that new avatar pic by the way! Awesome hair you have too! Great day to you and Justin and everybody else here!
Ted
Incredible - I don't remember this story - maybe it happened before my time...
But, i did enjoy the connection to the photobucket from the avatar - and the horrible story - I have a new sense of Justin, now... and Justin, I really enjoyed the recital on the antique organ.
Happy to do so Ted and I feel most honored that you would ask.
I think one of the best is at 2:31 in the video. Other than just myself appearing, I chose to include a number of photos of some of the beautiful places out here, and I even included one of Walter and myself on our 1st meet-up in Cannon Beach. Walter has to be about the most fastastic person I have ever met in my entire life. Anyone fortunate enough to have ever met Walter should consider themselves very much blessed.
Hope this will help inspire Ted. With all good wishes-
Justin~
ps: Many thanks to Jason for his kindness in posting those photos. Very much appreciated. :-)
Justin,
It was great to see all those photos again. What a mane you had! I agree the part you mentioned showed it off at its very best and also showed your chiseled physique as well.
I'm further inspired to go for absolute terminal length.
Best,
Jason
Hi Jason
Yeah, guess I did have a fairly good mane going for me. Too bad will never know where terminal would have been in my case. I was very lucky however in the maintainence dept. Shampoo and Condition once a week once the hair was at mid-back. No comb or brush hardly ever used. Just my fingers. A couple of minutes ea. AM to undo the tangles and that was it until the next day. Real simple in my case.
Yes, do go for the terminal Jason. It will be really great to know where it is and for all you know, once you get there you may actually like this length! :-)
All the best-
Justin~
Justin,
that is an awesome montage... thanks for sharing it.
Fitz
Thank you Fitz and indeed it was my pleasure. :-)
Justin~
Justin, I have to be up-front and say very honestly: I miss seeing your long hair!!!!!
Beautiful video, GREAT photos, spectacular background scenery of the Pacific NW, and soothing sweet music... What more can anyone ask for??
For 5 years my step-mom retired up in Roseburg, OR, as well as I still have one of my brothers still living up there. I have many fond memories of driving up the Northern Calif. coast and have been on pretty much the entire length of the OR coast en route to visiting her and/or driving with her.... Also Crater Lake, Bend, the Columbia River water gap, and even drove to far Eastern OR to the Idaho border once with my mom -- an amazing state with spectacular scenery!
Anyway, I don't leave the SF Bay area much anymore, have become more of a "stay-at-home" kind of guy (for a variety of reasons); but this video was great arm chair traveling -- as well as fun to travel back in time to when you had hands-down AWESOME looooooong hair!
- Ken
Hey Ken! :-)
Many (except right here in town) have said the same so many times to me I wish I had a dime for each. If I did, I would be able to send you probably 1/2 Million right now, and I would too as a prize-gift for your own astonishing mane! It looks really wonderful. :-)
Hardly anything, that is for sure.
I have never actually been to Roseburg, but nearly I think. ("Eugene?") In any event, for the longest time I have had the desire to go down state and try my hand at panning for Gold in the "Rouge River." Hey, wouldn't it be great to suddenly find a great big chunk of that in that pan. Wow! Glad you have the fond memories of all of these wonderful sights Ken. Indeed, some of the most spectacular in the entire world.
I don't go all that far anymore either. I've have always had trouble driving for not really all that long at a time meaning, after about 2 hours I have had-it with exhaustion. (Same thing when I was a Teen.) Meanwhile, I have a brother-in-law that can drive at age 70 non-stop from Florida to here and still not be tired. OMG, I don't know how he does it! "Easy" he says. LOL
Now to my own hair but first: It is the strangest thing to have actually (though very very briefly) been dead. You come back to a long period of trying to get going again and have escaped from the ICU on the 7th day before they could kill you with another Blood Clot because of neglict. (They "said" it wasn't a "bad" Blood Clot. But to myself and as ill as I was laying there, my mind kept telling me: since when has any Blood Clot been good?) I somehow managed back here and collapsed on the Kitchen floor. Too much to go into after that. Meanwhile my hair continued to fall out for the next 9 months and I finally made the decision to cut. Nothing worth saving and long hair hanging like Cob Webs on Halloween is hardly anything ideal to look at. At this point a Buzz Cut looked superior! (Hard to believe.) Now after several years since June 23rd 2009, I have had great enjoyment trying out different hairstyles that had I not lost the Long Hair, I never would have experienced. Despite my years, it was really a fun thing to have the "Emo look." Oh yes, the "Asian Anime inspired" hair that nobody in their right mine (ie, myself) at an age of 60+ would go around sporting. Heck, I was having all of the fun! :-) And indeed, all of this has been great fun and inside I feel like a little kid in a Candy Store waiting for the next "haircut style treat" to come along and sample. (Sample more of "Life" actually.) Right now, I am letting my hair grow-out. Inspiration? An "Awkward Stage" look is really of great appeal these days, and so I am ready to take that journey. After that who knows? Despite all, I have always encouraged long hair through those crazy videos I made in 2008-early 2009 and apparently helped a whole lot of guys who would have never had long hair had I not put on this initial series. Now I note with much joy quite a number of guys doing long hair updates who were not present for my videos. It is quite clear to me that "Long Hair" has gone up a notch from what it was back in 2008. Great! I feel like cheering!!! :-)
Thank you for so many kind words and who knows, a possible return of Justin with very long hair at the age of nearly 70 yet! :-)
With warmest wishes to you Ken.
Justin~
ps: Hope you can excuse the typos. I know they must be up there, but I just don't see them until "after" I post. LOL :-)
Hi Justin,
In spite of having to watch part of that Planet Fitness ad it was worth the wait to view your well produced video.Just as Ken had noted the combination of music, scenery, and your classic mane was very refreshing to sit through.I also agree with Ken as I truly miss your mane but sometimes life throws you a curve ball and you just have to accept the outcome but I feel you could again regain that length if you desired.Hoping life has been treating you well as we prepare for another year on the calender to pass......Cheers
Mârk
Hi Mark
I am absolutely OUTRAGED that the "New" You Tube GOOGLE has just gone right ahead and smacked some 15 second ad BEFORE my video began! Money hungry greedy BUMS! My channel has always been handled so as to NOT have this happen to anyone that ever sees any video I have made. Very disturbing indeed. It was not doing this 12 hours ago. Think I should just say the heck with YT and get my own personal Website that anyone can go to anytime they feel like it and just be amused or whatever, but in no F'n way have to sit through some advt!
Thank you very much Mark and glad you enjoyed this video I made 3 years ago. I have written much to Ken so please feel free to look below for some "thoughts" from someone whos brains fell out 15 years ago. LOL
All the best-
Justin~
I'[m wondering if the ad is being placed not by google but by the
ISP. I just watched the video and got an add for one of the health connector web sites. (Now this is a regionally based ad
which leads me to beleive it is more of an ISP ad than google.
This was not an ad for Planet Fitness.
BTW, I just watched the video on the iphone (AT&T) and presto no ad which leads me to believe it is the ISP inserting the ads not
google.
Sure beats me as to what is going on, but this has never ever happened before in all of the years I have been making videos which is exactly at 5 years ago this month in Nov. of 2008.
Justin~
even when I sign into my own channel site and view it from where I am suppose to have control over it and make changes. Guess it isn't an IP issue.
Justin~
Wow, nice video Justin. May I ask why you decided to cut it?
-Tommy
Ah woops NM I see Jasons link now :) Move along, nothing to see here!
Hi Justin,
Thanks so much for this video! I had to go through it pic by pic because it kept stopping on me at 0:27. Maybe it's my connection speed but I usually don't have trouble watching these videos. Your hair was so long! I am wondering if my hair will all fall down neatly like yours when it gets longer. Right now it just seems like it fans out to each side. I would much rather have it neatly hanging down. I would love to know your opinion on this! Thanks again for posting this for everyone!
Ted
Hey Ted :-)
I have noticed this newest "stopping" act going on in everyones videos for about a week now and it appears to be a chronic kind of thing. Maybe because of this newest "Monster" YT-Google take over agreement or whatever it is? After a while, the video should play all of the way through. Meanwhile however it is so interesting that I have not once seen ANY AD have trouble playing through! Nope, those advts. play through real nice. (Only once the video begins is the trouble.)
As for your own hair, it is so hard to say for sure. In my case I know that my hair looked like a mess when as long as yours, but in my case I enjoyed this look a real lot so it never bothered me as it does most men. "The wilder the better" seems to be written in stone within me. LOL I "think(?)" that by the time your hair is mid-back length, at this point you'll know for sure what to expect. This is what happened to me. Most interesting is what I refer to as the "2nd Awkward Stage." This comes about as quite a surprise when many are finally convinced that their long hair (at long last) is now smoothly under control. Wrong! Suddenly "out-of-the-blue" the ends flip-up! OMG, what's going on? It lasts for maybe a couple of weeks and then the hair gives-up for the final time and is once again settled-in. Hope this helps Ted.
Justin~
Hi Justin,
Thanks so much for your reply! I apologize for the late reply! I will just keep playing the video and see what happens. I do appreciate the info about the "2nd awkward stage"! I am going to just enjoy the ride and see what happens! I kind of like the ends flipped up actually. But it is good to know your hair was also a mess at my length! I don't feel alone any more! I'm pretty sure when I get to my goal of waist length, things will be just fine. Thanks again and please be well my friend!
Ted
Hi Justin,
Thank you for sharing such a lovely video with us. Not only was your hair truly outstanding here, but the serene music and magnificent scenery are truly heartwarming to hear and see. You do have such excellent taste.
Naturally, I am saddened by what you went through during that horrible episode all those years ago which lead to the loss of such a magnificent mane.
Take care,
David
Hi David :-)
I was happy to share and couldn't believe how much time had gone by since making that video.
Yes, that episode was no fun but, these kinds of things happen all the time to millions. Oh well, guess it was just my turn. I am still bouncing about, but not as quickly as I was able when 17 years old. LOL
Take care David and all the best-
Justin~
I really enjoyed the video, and this is coming from an attention-challenged guy who often gets fidgety with slide shows :-) You are fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the country - it makes me want to visit there again.
Thanks,
Chris
Thank you Chris. Yes, such a beautiful part of the country indeed.
Justin~
