Well, I'm past my first whole year and moving towards the second now...I think I am getting close to my original goal!
Original goal ideas:
Current length, First pic is before a wash this morning and the rest are tonight after a wash/condition:
Hi Tommy,
Holy sh&t! I thought that was you in the first pic! You look like that guy man! Seriously though, you are making wonderful progress my friend! Your hair is going to just look awesome when it gets to say, mid-back length! The color and texture is just great for growing long! Thanks for this wonderful update and please keep it growing!
Ted
Hi Tommy,
Haha too funny Ted! those are just some styles I liked once my all my hair gets to shoulder length. I'm really not even sure how to approach styling it that way once it gets there, but I'm thinking I will give it a try! Part of me is curious to see how long I can grow it, but I'm not sure I want to wait a few more years to find out. I guess I'll just to wait and see what happens!

WOW, Tommy, it's as if "overnight" your hair is suddenly very long now.... I realize of course that this is not at all true; but your hair has crossed over that line from looking very much in the middle of "awkward stage" to now full-on longhair!
You have an ideal head of hair there: very full, shiny, healthy-looking, and with nice body & fullness to it... What more could you ever ask for??
"Onward & Downward!"
- Ken
Oh wow. You Won! That is amazing long hair. Congratulations!
Justin~ :-)

Your hair is looking great. Now time for a new goal. Maybe mid back?
Scott
Thanks Scott. That is one option I'm considering...thanks for the input!

Looks good
Hi TommyD.,
Funny how your hair looks just before a wash and afterwards once it has dried. My hair is exactly the same way as after two days since my last wash/condition my hair clumps together and looks flat overall. After I wash/condition my hair, then air dry its looks so much livelier such as in your after pics.I just can't seem to let me hair go beyond two days before it starts looking oily and flat.Ideally my hair would look nicer if I washed it daily but I'm just afraid of it getting too dry especially with winter approaching.Other than that your hair looks fabulous my friend.Cheers

Hi Mark,
I do find it interesting the differences in appearance so I included that picture. For me, the back around my neck gets all clumped up and looks terrible, and then the crown of my head gets super greasy and flat looking as you said. I should have taken a picture of the back before I washed it...I've been washing twice a week but I may bump up to 3 just because of those 2 reasons. Before I do that I have purchased a new shampoo and conditioner to try first. I've tried using some oils and leave in conditioner on the back to see if that helps but it actually makes it worse!

Hi TommyD.,
Yea I too have to be careful when applying oils as if I put too much on it looks as if I never washed my hair!lol.I use coconut oil but very sparingly. If it's too dry my hair almost can feel like straw. My hair is to my lower back and I love how it bounces around after being freshly washed:) I'm also about due to rehenna my hair so that is on the schedule. Cheers my friend.

Hi Tommy,
Cheers to you in doing so well in your hair growing journey, you hair looks thick and healthy here, and good luck in your future growing. Now that you have nearly reached your original goal, you may wish to consider striving for a new, and longer, new goal.
Keep it growing,
David
Thanks David.
I am trying to figure out whats a good next goal to shoot for... Ideally it would be something I could obtain in over the next 11 months. I think I can relate to what several others have said, once you see progress and growth you just want to keep going!
-Tommy
Thanks for the great update! Yours is one that I can really relate to because I have similarly-textured hair and I'm about 4-5 months behind you in length. Looking really good. If I were you, I'd let it continue to grow and see how you like that.
Chris
Thanks Chris, that's cool that your working with what I'm working with hair wise! I'll be looking forward to your next update now :) Comparisons are fun at this stage just because even though it does feel like forever at the moment, we really do see some big changes month to month.
I am definitely going to continue to grow, as I want the shortest part, currently the top of my head and "bangs" area to reach my shoulders, and right now its just about 1/8" past my chin if I pull it down. I am just thinking ahead to my next big goal...
-Tommy
Looking great tommy. Are you going to keep going?
