Willie Nelson rocks an awesome mane for a man of his age.
Here are 41 photos of Willie Nelson through the years:

I've always considered his hair inspiring. I was disappointed
when he cut it.
There are lots of musicians who make wonderful music. But Willie Nelson is truly an original; one of a very limited breed. Long hair or no, he'll always be himself.
I hadn't realized Willie cut his hair!
He is one of my top artists... I like a lot about this man. His recording of September Song was my wife and my song and the tune we danced our "first dance" to at our wedding reception in September 1985. Good song. He's had a lot of classics and I don't think there is one I dislike. I saw him in person once at a most unlikely place - a United Methodist conference in upstate NY. I don't know how it happened that they got him to come to their conference, but a friend of mine knew how much I loved Willie and invited me to join him that night... It was great!
His long hair will always be an inspiration to me, unlike him
i'll never cut my hair.
From your later post, it appears he cut it in 2010, and from Ted's post, it appears it had grown back quite a bit by August of this year. He has it braided again. Braided, it's down to his nips.
My reaction when I learned he had cut it, was that he was probably drunk or stoned. Willie Nelson, stoned? Really?

I'll add that the cut looked like a hack job, like he had done it himself. It was not a professionally done cut, like a performer would normally have. This is what led to my thoughts.

Willie likes his weed... he is thinking it's 4:20 somewhere in the world...
that cut does look like a hack job...
During the 70s I was drunk/high a number of times but I never
even considered cutting my hair. The thought never even entered my
mind.
I only got a high s few times but I did get drunk alot in college.
Speaking of the red-headed stranger, his tour bus crashed. He was not aboard. Here is the story. I have always loved his music (and his hair).
