Hi everybody,
Here is my 15 month update. I am happy with it so far. Seems like I'm seeing more gray in it now. Thanks for your inspiration everybody! Onward and downward!
Ted
Lookin good Ted...... you have waves like I do (see recent pic below)
Onward and downward..
Hi Spaf Man,
Thanks a bunch for your nice comments! I just don't know if my waves will flattenn out with added length and weight. I wouldn't mind if they stuck around. This pic was taken the same day I washed my hair. If I go some days without washing my hair becomes noticeably flatter and greasier.
Your hair is looking great as well my friend! Please don't stop growing! Do not get discouraged by the slow growth man! We will get there!
Ted
.
I can really see the length in the front view!! Nice hair man, keep it up.
Great update, Ted - I love your waves and the length is real impressive - looks great - I'll bet you love it when you are walking along and it moves with you as you go - it's so cool looking. Congratulations on your patience and your progress...
Hi Fitz,
Thanks so much for your very kind remarks my friend! I am having fun on this journey I must say! It is finally starting to kind of have that movement when I walk. Yes, it is very cool and I enjoy it! It is trying to get past the hair sitting on the shoulders that is the hardest! Once the hair is allowed to hang free from the shoulders is when you get the movement going. I still think a lot of my waves are going to end up dropping out when my hair gets past the shoulders. I kind of hope not though. I shall be happy with whatever I end up with! I do believe at waist length, it will be fun!
I sure hope I am serving as a little inspiration to other members who are just starting out! Your patience will be rewarded I assure you! Thanks for your inspiration also!
Ted
My hair is not as heavy as yours, Ted - I am already enjoying the flying hair when I bend over or move around - and i have to constantly brush it back off my face when i am working - and when i walk around, it moves in the breeze I create in just moving - I love it. I imagine since your hair is heavier and thicker, you don't get as much of this flying syndrome that I have - I am not complaining, though - I really enjoy this - It is something i wanted to acheive for many years - and I am on the cusp of long hair now... One year mark of growth with out a cut is quickly approaching...
And, yes, you have been a guiding inspiration with your posts and your encouraging remarks to so many guys on this forum.
Hi Fitz,
Well thank you! I hope to be even more of an inspiration when I get to waist length!
Yes, your hair is probably lighter and finer than mine. But I can tell you, I still have to brush it out of my face often. I am so happy that you are doing what you have wanted to for so long! And as you know, it will only get much better! Your hair will look just wonderful at longer lengths! I can't wait to see it!
Ted
Looking good Ted! Where do your bangs/front of your hairs go to now? I'm guessing well past your chin at this point?
-Tommy
Hi Tommy,
Thanks very much for your kind compliments my friend! The bangs in the very front are right about chin level. They increase in length gradually towards the back. So far I'm happy with it. I must say your hair is looking awesome and just getting better!
Ted
Your hair is looking awesome Ted.
Besides, it looks so shiny, thick and healthy. I think you're going the right way.
Also, everytime I see your updates I remember this guy whose hair is awesome, the guy from Portugal whose nick name I dont remember right now ( it was bird something, not sure) . His hair used to be as thick as yours and now he has some great hair. I think yours is going to be exactly like that.
Thanks for sharing !!
Hi Dave,
Thanks so much for your kind compliments! So far I'm happy with it. As long as it keeps growing everything will be cool. I can almost put it all behind my shoulders.
Yes, you're talking about Joao David. He has a page and uses the name littlebirdlonghair. He has awesome hair I agree. I don't know if my hair will be quite that nice! I can hope though! He definitely inspires us to keep growing that's for sure! Looking forward to your next update my friend!
Ted
Hey Ted!
Hair is REALLY growtn a lot since I've seen a picture last, my friend! You are definitely a longhair now through and through, eventhough I KNOW in your eyes it's still very short... but it's a good way down your back and finally gotten into that DOWNWARD stage! hehehe :D
Love the shine of it, which products do you use mostly these dayS?
Hi Raul,
Thanks so much for the very nice compliments my friend! Yes, it is definitely looking different from the avatar pic! You are absolutely correct that I still think it's so short man! I still have a little "outward" stuff going on, but it is trying to creep down in the back finally!
I have started using the Suave Professionals products. I use the keratin infusion smoothing shampoo and the keratin infusion smoothing conditioner. The shampoo has lower sulfates in it. These are gold colored bottles. But I think some of the shine is due to the gray hairs that you cant really see in the pic! Looking forward to your next update too my friend! I don't use any other products except a wide toothed comb on my hair.
Ted
As I'm looking at your pic, I don't see one bit of grey, not even one single hair strand; but I do see a great-looking head of hair!!!
And without a doubt, every month I see more & more progress in your hair growth, just wonderful to witness!
Long Lox 4ever,
Ken
Hi Ken,
I do thank you so much for your kind words my friend! It is hard to see the gray in that pic. I am definitely having a lot of fun watching the growth! I am always inspired by the other members' progress here. I have come a long way from that avatar photo! Thanks for the inspiration!
Ted
Hi Ted,
Nice update for just before the holidays as you are really showing some length now :)Not sure where you are seeing the grays but there must be very few of them from what I can tell.Still your hair is looking fabulous my friend as the best is yet to come!Cheers
Mârk
Hi Mark,
Thanks so much for your very kind remarks my friend! Yes, maybe I will have all of my hair sitting behind my shoulders by New Year's! I think the grays are hard to see since they are mixed in there well. Oh well, I am not bothered by those. And I know you are correct about the best being yet to come! I am having much fun on the journey! And I do thank you for your inspiration!
Ted
Your hair is looking great. Since my hair is now all grey i'm
partial to grey hair. I'll leave it the natural color and will
also leave it long/flowing/grey until the day I die.
I keep saying I earned every one of those grey hairs every time
someone told me to get a haircut. Of course every time they said that I took it as inspiration to not only keep my hair long but grow it longer.
I don't see any grey hairs in your photo.
Keep up the good work. (And this is on a large screen monitor.)
To me, calling hair "grey" make is seem dull and dismal, while calling it "gray" comes off as more sparkly and vibrant. I don't know why that is, but due to that feeling I always say my hair is gray. Hell, I look old enough as it is!
That said, I, too, really like gray hair.
Bill
They basically mean the same thing. Below is a breakdown of the word. So yes my hair is grey (or gray) and will remain long
and grey (or gray) until the day I die. No matter how you spell it.
Hi LHIA,
Thanks a bunch for your kind compliments my friend! I need to look even closer to make sure about the grays. My wife tells me she sees some. But I kind of want my hair to turn more gray. I really like long flowing gray hair on both men and women. I do thank you for your inspiration!
Ted
You're welcome. As I look at the photo on my large screen monitor I have to wonder is it really grey hair? Or is it just the way the light is reflecting/bouncing off the hair? As I look at the reflection off the hair my gut tells me it is more the light bounding off the hair. The hair has a sparkle which screams light to me. Either way your hair is looking great.
(Now this may be deceiving so I may be wrong here.)
My hair now at the ripe old age of 59 is about 99% grey.
I've also noticed that when I take photos now I have to take
them outside. Indoor shots seem to mask the grey hair,
which is something i don't want to do.
Hi LHIA,
I think you may be correct about the lighting. Also, the indoor shot might be masking the grays like in your situation. These pics were taken with a flash. Needless to say, I have always loved your hair. Thanks for the inspiration!
Ted
Thank you.
Ted, as your hair has grown out, we are beginning to see its own personality. It turns out that you've got thick hair with just enough wave that you can take your hair anywhere you want to go with it. I've seen it said that guys with hair like yours "won the hair lottery". You are blessed.
Rock on!
Bill
Hi Bill,
Thank you so kindly for your very nice compliments my friend! Yes, my hair is very thick and can be crazy at times! I must say that I do like the amount of wave I have. If I comb my hair while it's drying much of the wave can be pulled out. Also, if I go a few days without washing, my hair gets straighter. I am so happy to hear you say that I won the "hair lottery"! I must thank my parents for good hair genes I guess! Both of my parents have straight hair. I can tell you I feel blessed to have this wonderful board and I thank you for it! I visit the user's directory quite often for inspiration! And thank you for your inspiration also!
Ted
Nice progress, dude! It must be very satisfying to see your hair now taking more shape. The only way is up (or down in this case but in a nice way)!
Damon
--------------------------------------------------------
Hi Damon,
Thanks so much for your very kind words my friend! Yes, I must say I am very happy with the growth so far! The layers are finally filling in and making it look a lot better. My patience is paying off! Things are definitely looking down! I do thank you for your inspiration!
Ted
Hi Ted,
It's been great to follow your progress month by month. Each update impresses me even more about just how thick your hair is and to think that you said that it used to be thicker! By mid-back you're going to have one heck of a lot of hair!
Jason
Hi Jason,
I do thank you so much for your very nice compliments my friend! I appreciate that you are following my progress! Yes, my hair is thick and sometimes it bothers me! I am hoping I can get a thick hemline all the way to waist length. Right now I see that V shape because of the natural hair growth of the layers. Once those layers go away, I am hoping I will have a natural blunt hemline. But we will have to see. I must say though that I am truly inspired by your hair man! I still can't get over that avatar pic! Thanks my friend!
Ted
Hey Ted.
There is no gray to be seen in this picture or at least I don't see any.
Excellent progress. It has nearly reached the length of my hair.
Hi Michail,
Thanks very much for your kind words my friend! I am happy with the progress so far. I think the gray is mixed in real well. I have always loved your hair and look forward to your next update! Thanks for your inspiration! Onward and downward!
Ted
Hi Ted,
Your hair just continues to get better and better with every passing day, and cheers to you on your journey. I look forward to following your progress as you continue on to waist length or even longer!
Keep it growing,
David
Hi David,
Thank you very much for your kind comments my friend! Happy to know you are interested in my progress! I can't wait to get to waist length! That will probably take me at least another 2 years, but I can wait! Needless to say, I enjoy checking your progress pics for added inspiration! Thanks again!
Ted
Looks awesome, Ted!
Keep up the good progress.
- Oren
Hi Oren,
I thank you kindly for your compliments my friend! I am enjoying this journey, that's for sure! You know I do look at your progress pics for inspiration also! How can I go wrong with all of this inspiration! Waist length here I come! Thanks for your inspiration!
Ted
Hi Ted,
I've seen several of your monthly updates but it took until this one to realize that you've been growing (only) 15 months. I guess I'm a little thick sometimes but I had the impression it was somewhere like 18-24 months. All this intro to say that I think the growth is impressive for 15 months.
Chris
Hi Chris,
I thank you kindly for the very nice comments my friend! To be honest with you, I really don't know exactly how long I have been growing! I started with a longer men's haircut so it's not really the same as someone who might have started from a buzz cut. Here is a pic from around November of 2012. I wish it was 18 to 24 months though! I try not to pay too much attention to the time because it just frustrates me! I just can't wait to get to waist length! That is my first goal. Thanks again and I do look forward to your next update!
Ted
Good progress. Do you have a ponytail pic?
