I picked up a beanie a few days ago... it's the first time I've ever had one! I washed my hair this morning and it's snowy/icy today so I wore my beanie so my hair wouldn't freeze this morning...I decided what the heck, and have worn it all day today haha.
I don't think it really matches my sweater/collar shirt look but oh well! What do you think, do I pull the beanie off (maybe better with appropriate dress :))
I'm pretty sure I owe another hair update too...I'll try to get one this week for 14 months!

I love it when you look at the pic to make sure its straight, then its not when you hit Submit :)
All cameras have a "top". The secret is to hold the top of the camera pointed towards the sky when you take a picture. :-)
Some camera displays (especially cell phone ones) auto-rotate a picture so looking at the display after you take the picture to see if you before held the camera correctly doesn't work. You have to have pointed the top of the camera at the sky when you took the picture.
Posting a picture into a web page does not perform a rotation, so when you do that, such as into a message at MLHH, the disorientation of the camera comes out. Pictures can come out sideways or upside down.

Me too! I have tried flipping it on the phone itself but that doesn't seem to do it either! I guess I'll just have to click the flip clockwise everytime I post a phone pic :)
There is more info in an earlier post I made. It is now in the Archive, and the link will take you to it.
MLHH I doubt would try to make the site automatically rotate photos for you. The reason is that sensing which way was up from the photo file is not easy. This is because every camera that comes onto the market, if it has that feature, encodes it a bit differently. Sites like Google, YouTube, and Facebook have rooms full of engineers who constantly keep up on camera formats. MLHH has one volunteer engineer who pops in occasionally.
Technology for still pictures is very stable now, so that feature does not need software updates. Rotation and video, though, are still in a state of flux.

Your beanie hat and your hair looks great, Tommy... Every time I see your picture, you remind me of a friend of my son. I think you are about my boys age.
Good choice on this snowy, windy day in most of the eastern USA
Thanks! I have recently turned 28. That is exactly why I kept it on, it was around 18 degrees F on the way into to work yesterday plus wind chill on top of that!

I think your beanie looks cute. Dont worry about the color, no need to match absolutely everything. Did you receive any comments at work?
No comments, but plenty of sideways glances :) The HVAC in my cubicle section doesn't work correctly so its always frigid cold or scorching hot depending on the seasons, so that is my excuse!!

Hi Tommy,
The beanie hat, or ski cap, does the job on these cold days even if the color is a bit off with your wardrobe of the day ;) lol.Sorry to hear about your HVAC problems at work as I'd be glad to take care of them for you if I was there since that's my line of work.Good luck to you my friend.Cheers

Yeah, sounds like someone skimped on zoning and thermostats. I used to work in a high rise that got sun or shade from another one a block away. When the sun hit the cubicle that had the thermostat and controlled our whole south wall of rooms, the whole bank shifted wildly. That was fine for the guy in the cubicle with the thermostat, but it was very frustrating for everyone else.
The MLHH on-topic solution: Would popping your mane in and out of a ponytail as the temperature varies help?

I have longer hair than you and work in a law office, but I don't think they'd be too amused by wearing a hat indoors.
Hey, if lawyers can wear those stupid things on their head indoors, what's the problem with a beanie?! :)

Heck if older guys can wear a toupee then you should be able to wear a hat. After all a toupee is essentially a hat with hair.
Heck, as long as I live in the United States I will wear (and you should) whatever I want! And as far as lawyers are concerned...
Nice Pic, I like the color of your hat...
Your hair is looking great...
Enjoy the snow...(we just got more!)

Hi Tommy,
I must say this is a great look for you! It doesn't really matter if it matches your other clothing. I love how your hair lays nice and straight with the beanie on. So yes, you definitely pull it off! And yes, I am looking forward to your next update too! Keep it growing and flowing!
Ted
Beanies are seriously COOL, dude!
You can wear a beanie with almost anything. You pull off the look just fine. Though I prefer a black beanie myself. Yeah okay, I do have a slight fixation with black! :)

Looks good to me, although I never really liked the beanie and long hair look.
Also, impressive progress, Tommy. I wish I had the same hair type.
Looks good and being able to wear it to work gives you another option.
Sorry for the late reply on this and I hope you see it - your hair looks straighter in this picture than it does in your avatar picture. Did you do something to make it straighter or is just a result of the length? Reason I ask is that I have similar hair to your avatar pic and for some occasions I'd like it to be straighter.
Thanks,
Chris
