Not my first post here, but it's been awhile.
Anyways, I am graduating high school in June (on Friday the 13th nonetheless!) and as a longhair, I fear being forced to cut my hair once in the "real world" because I'm already harassed for it daily. Not only here, but most places I go. I don't care much about my appearance as I do having problems finding a job because of my hair. And I already have social anxiety as it is. I'm thinking of cutting it short once I graduate and then split it down the middle to give myself the 1972 David Gilmour look.
My hair is... very weird. Sometimes straight, sometimes wavy, and when I don't wash it - curly (see pic).
Well, I'm 56 and I've never cut mine short since I started growing it. First grew it out when I was 15, but only to my shoulders. Decided to grow it down my back when I was 23, spurred on by a girl who said it was only 'long for a guy'.
I won't lie, there are probably some jobs I didn't get, but I am gainfully employed in a professional job. It's probably harder with only a high school education, but I think just about everyone here has a job (although a few are retired!). You can do it too.
you seem to have a lot of various lengths and definition in your hair - you wont get any encouragement from the guys here to cut your hair - it looks quite nice and beautiful... Of course, you have to gain your confidence in yourself and not listen to the negative comments of others - rise above it - when you gain confidence, others will take note and the negative remarks will begin to decrease or they will bother you less...
when you go for an interview, you have to take care to groom well - or pull your hair back neatly - that makes a big difference - it shouldn't matter if your hair is long or not.
I wish you well as you graduate Zach....
Your hair is looking nice, what is there not to like..
All the best... The Spaf Man
Two Things
1. Your hair is not really very long at all, andm
2. Let it grow more, then pull it back for important occasions, being sure that you trim/shave the back of your neckline so that it looks neat.
