Ok, so its closer to 15 months given how late it is in the month! Looking back I feel pretty good about the progress I've made the past 4 months especially. Anyone know how to get that weird indent arpund my neck to go away? I comb it out but its still very apparent from the back.
I've been using a new shampoo that I think is doing a terrible job... my hair gets this greasy after 24 hours! Going to have to switch to a new one!
Looking good, there Tommy baby! You've made great progress... I think that flip and indent is just the stage you're in with the kind of hair you have... I am learning, as my hair grows, that certain stages of length and growth bring their own issue.
When your hair gets longer, its additional weight will make that wave mostly go away.
The big mistake that some guys make is they will trim the offending wave off. This is counter-productive, of course, since the way to get rid of the wave is to grow one's hair longer.

Awesome update Tommy and I'm with Bill about that "indent' you speak of.Just let your hair grow and gravity will take over ;)
As for the greasiness I wouldn't exactly blame the shampoo as mine get that way by the second day after a shampoo and conditioning.Everyone's hair is different.Cheers and Merry Christmas!

Its possible that your hair is just following the contours of
your body and that when it hits your shoulder area it creates
a wave. Once it grows on below your shoulders then the wave
should disappear. BTW I would love to have hair like yours.
A little wave like that wouldn't bother me at all since mine is
curly, frizzy and has a mind of its own and doesn't "flow" or
move like other peoples does.
Great update thanks for sharing man!! It looks great!
I've always loved your hair Tommy. You have an incredible potential there and I hope you don't cut it !
Thanks for updating us :D
Easy, wait another 4 months.
Your hair looks really strait so it probably wont be able to put up much of a fight when gravity starts pulling it passed your shoulders. Trust me, 15 months from now, you'll have forgotten that indent was ever there.
Sounds like you preferred the shampoo you used before this one. Why not just switch back to that one?
If not, Good luck with the trial & error, you'll find a combination you like, we all do eventually.

Hi Tommy,
Thanks for the very nice update my friend! Your hair is looking just awesome at this length! I will have to agree with what the other guys said about the indent. Your hair does appear straight so it's just following the contours of your neck. Once the neck and shoulders are out of the way, look out below! Your hair will probably fall like a ton of bricks and you will hopefully be happy.
As far as the shampoo, possibly it's working too good. Sometimes shampoo will strip the oils too much and cause scalp to produce more oil. I have gone to using low sulfate shampoo and only washing every other day. Unfortunately, after about a day my hair becomes limp and lifeless. Please keep it growing and flowing! Your hair will only look better and better with more length! Happy holidays to you and your family!

That is some really great looking hair you've got.
You are looking just great, I would do as others have said,
just keep growing and it will be fine....thanks for posting!
Onward and Downward! The Spaf Man....
My advise would be to leave your hair alone, to avoid (or at least delay) trimming it for now. As it continues to grow and add more length, your hair will change and fall differently as time progresses.
On the other hand, if it ends up bothering you so much that you feel tempted to go back to short, then by all means go into a reputable salon for a very modest trim.
The secret to finding a good hair stylist who understands and will support your goal of long hair is ideally to find someone who specializes in long hair (they do exist, but be prepared to pay more money than your average hair stylist). But again: delay, delay, delay... (In this case, procrastination is NOT an "evil!" - LOL)

Thanks for the update,

Bad ass brother! Your hair is coming along nicely sir. :) Just imagine what another year will bring in length!!
Thanks for all the positive feedback guys! I'm sorry I haven't been around much lately, this is just a busy, busy season!
I'm not thinking of cutting or trimming my hair, just wondering if there was anything I could do about that funny indent. I suspected it may be because my hair was curling up only shoulders...
Hope everyone had a Merry Christmas!
