... we're having a hot Summer in Oz. ...
I love that fringe. Doesn't it bother you now that is hot ?
I understand what you're going through in Oz buddy. Here in Argentina we've been like that for the last 12 days. Yesterday, some parts of the country reached 131°F (that is 55°C) .
We need a big storm and tornado to cool things down haha
Lets dispell that myth right here. Afgter 49 years with long hair
i've found that having long hair does not make you hotter. If
anything it helps to cool you down. (Provides shade.)
On a scorching hot summer day it's great to just go out wearing only cut off shorts, no shirt, and having my long hair cascading down my back. But every summer the long hair stays long, i've
never contemplated shaving it all off during the very hot summer.
Ultimately it is more comfortable on a hot summer day to have my
hair long and loose instead of being tied in a pony tail,
braided, in a bun or in pig tails.
Ultimately I hate the heat and don't handle the heat well. Hence my always wearing cut off shorts. But even with my dislike of the heat I flatly refuse to cut my hair in the heat. People don't believe me that cutting the hair won't help with the heat.
I think it also depends on the type of weather you live in.
I mean, if the climate is HOT and DRY I think you can tolerate it. But if the climate is HOT and HUMID, that is when things are not okay (at least that happens to me).
My neck area gets completely hot when is too warm outside.
Personally I think people with short hair are worse off. Long
hair tends to insulate, both against heat and cold. If you
notice that people who live in deserts are always fully clothed.
When I see people going around with no hair and virtually no
clothes in the heat they are worse of because when they sweat
it just evaporates away whereas if you have cloths that gets wet
from sweat then it keeps you cooler.
Hi Dave - I've learnt over time to love & embrace all seasons & weather nuances: ( there is positives to glean from all we experience in life - including environmental ) - no it doesn't bother me in the slightest - I just counter-act heat with water, in the guise of a spa, swim:( ocean, river, dam, lake, puddle ) beach, bath, rain-shower, no matter the water source ... cheers bud CEM.
I would, however, avoid any swimming holes named "The Parana River". The river's name was spelled slightly different than the fish, but fish can't spell, and about 70 morons went swimming in such a place "because it was so hot out", and they got considerably nibbled. Some lost fingers and toes. It was in the news yesterday, and readers of the story are having a field day laughing at them for swimming in such a place:
Argentina: 70 injured in carnivorous fish attack
I concur - self preservation & longevity is KEY !!! < gigglez >
hahahaha yes, that actually happened...! People can be stupid huh ? Don't worry, I don't live close to the Paraná River. Besides I have air conditioner + swimming pool in my house with NO palometas nor piranhas (or pirañas, the spanish spelling) haha.
It's just that people are desperate about this hot weather. It it supposed to cool down after new year's eve. We'll see what happens.. This has been the hottest December in the last 47 years.
yes Dave = tis-true - southern hemisphere summers cook now - when I was a young whipper-snapper I revelled in the heat - but as I move towards 48. yrs. old, I'm finding the heat harder to deal with - the extreme heat does knock me about these days ...
Frick, man - you are hot -
You post the best photos...
I love your hair.
